FALSE TEETH MAY COST CRIQUI BOUT
(By Davis J. Walsh)
(I. N. S. Sports Editor)
NEW YORK, June 1.—Casting a hint of honest doubt on an issue that was supposed to be fore-ordained, such eminent minds as Johnny Coulon and Philadelphia Jack O'Brien today declined to string along with the common impression that Johnny Kilbane is certain to knock Eugene Criqui upside down at the Polo Grounds tomorrow.
They granted that Kilbane is a marvel of speed and hitting ability. They granted that, all going well, Kilbane should win, but neither conceded that. Criqui is the push-over, that prevalent opinion would have him.
"He is fast a good socker and very easy," declared Coulon, who has seen the French challenger in action many times. "The funny thing about Criqui is that he has become very rigged and tough within the last two years. Pal Moore did not knock him out in spite of the records. The Frenchman was hit low and could not continue, but the referee refused to allow a claim of foul."
"Of course, Criqui is easy to hit, but he is the cleanest hitter in the game today with the possible exception of Benny Leonard, but there is no getting around the fact that Criqui is an extremely dangerous puncher and very foxy in the ring. It ought to be a great fight."
Coulon was then asked whether the false teeth the Frenchmen is forced to use did not militate against punch absorbing and he conceded that this was not at all unlikely, since clenched teeth formed the best resistance against a punch and Criqui's, of necessity, were rather loose.

Alvie Miller.
Johnny Kilbane's ability to round into perfect form for his battle with Eugene Criqui after over a decade as champion has aroused in Alvie Miller's breast the hope that he can return to his old-time form and once more get into the fistic swim -- perhaps to get a crack at Kilbane or his conqueror when the king falls. Miller was the victim in the meanest fight Kilbane ever put up. It was a grudge battle. Now Miller is planning to re-enter the game via a match with Mog Pugh at Lorain June 4.

Dr. Eather Lovejoy.
Dr. Eather Lovejoy, woman physician and near east relief worker, who was personally decorated by the king of Greece a short time ago with the first Greek war cross ever awarded a woman, came home to New York recently in the steerage of the steamer Berengaria. She found she could save the difference between $300, first-class passage, and $78.50 and apply it to her hospital work among the sufferers of Greece.

Ice Will Save Your Dough
WE'RE speaking in terms of cookery first of all. Left-over pieces of dough may be kept, closely covered, in the refrigerator. Then you have the dough on hand for the pie you want to make in a hurry—or it can be made as one of those "day before" time savers.
From the slang standpoint, "dough" is saved every day in the year for those wise enough to use ice the year round. Because ice always pays for itself many times over. A telephone call brings prompt delivery.
