Saturday, May 12, 1923 TRIPLEX SPRINGS GUARD MECHANISM Triplex springs are unquestionably the most important improvement in light car riding comfort since the introduction of the pneumatic tire, declares the J. E. Walter Co., local distributor of the Overland. "They not only make riding easy, but they guard the mechanism from road shock, prolong the car's life and greatly reduce wear and fear." "They also make it possible to build a closed car that will be strong at free from squeaks and rattles long after it has been in use. My closed bodies develop squash and body noises as a result of road shocks which the ordinary spring suspension cannot withstand. "You will note one remarkable feature of the Overland chassis. You have all the economical easy-handling advantages of the 100-inch wheel base, but the riding base or spring base is 120 inches, which is from 30 to 60 inches longer than any car selling in the Overland price class. The result is exceptional ridiculous and roughest of roads." Triplex springs make possible lightweight construction, permitting the highest quality of alloy steels without excessive cost. Light weight assures great economy in fuel and tires." MOUNTAINS DEMAND NON-SKID CASING In the mountains one encounters all sorts of roads and all sorts of weather, says S. R. Walter of the Anaheim Vulcanizing Works. It is not a question any more of dry boulevards. Hence a Kelly Kant Slip, which positively will not skid, is the tire which the tourist needs to protect himself against accident. The trend of the tire is unique, and the tire comes in a larger oversize than most makes of tires, standard or otherwise. Neither will the tire pinch, as is the case with so many others. The head construction prevents that completely. WATER CO. REPORTS FATHER OF ANAHEIM MAN PASSES AWAY J. H.
