make Reich bounce right back into a stiff left hook.
Herman again clipped Rejeh with a right to the jaw at the start of the fourth round but missed another, almost falling out of the ring. Herman's strength was so prodigious that in swinging out of reach he fell to the floor.
Reich opened a cut under Herman's left eye with a hook, the blood streaming down his face and covering both men in a moment.
In spite of the fact that his left eye was almost closed, Herman came heavily, having Reich on the verge of a knockout in the first minute of fighting. Reich lasted out the round, but the going was very rough, successive right handers to the head leaving him groggy.
Reich, however, did not last out the sixth round, going out flat on his face after less than a minute of fighting after a series of lefts and rights to the jaw. Just at the count of ten he attempted to rise to his reluctant feet, but he was too late. At this moment the show was a virtual sell-out, not a seat being left in the broad expanse of bleachers and only a few being observed in the covered stands.
The crowd was estimated at 55,000, but it was probably greater.
However, many were casting anxious glances at the sky, which was clouding up ominously from the west, just as the patrons were treated to a cornet solo from the ring.
The camera man deployed into action when Fred Fulton and Jack Renault entered the ring for their ten round bout. It was believed that there is a possibility that the Willard-Johnson bout may be moved up on the program because of the threat of rain.
Fulton's weight was announced at 180 lbs.
Jaw, but in the following up, missed repeatedly.
Firpo missed a right uppercut. McAuliffe countered with a right to the jaw. McAuliffe drove Firpo into a counter and then Firpo counted with a right to the body.
McAuliffe landed a right to the head. McAuliffe pushed Firpo's head back on his shoulders with a terrific straight left. Firpo came back with a heavy left and right to the jaw. Just before the end of the round Firpo hit McAuliffe with a heavy left that dropped him to the floor. He was taking a count which had reached three when the bell sounded. Firpo came rushing out of his corner and led to the head with another right. They wrestled around and after breaking Firpo drove a right to the body and flailed away.
Firpo handed another right flush on the head. He distanced the count and lasted, and arose with a smile on his face, but it froze immediately when Firpo again hit him flush on the jaw, knocking him cold for the full count after one minute and seconds of fighting in the third round.
"QUICKSANDS" NOT DRUG EVIL EXPOSE
The trend of the times in producing pictures is to give the public an all-star cast rather than provide a single star supported by more or less undistinguished people.
The wisdom of the new method is exemplified in "Quicksands", which comes to the United Theater beginning tomorrow with what is truly an amazing galaxy of popular players.
The story was written and produced by Howard Hawks and directed by Jack Conway, with a cast including Helene Chadwick, Richard Dix Alan Hale, Noah Beery, J. Farrell McDonald, George Cooper, Tom Wilson, Dick Sutherland, Hardee Kirkland, Walter Long, Edwin Stevens, Frank Campeau, Lionel Belmore, Jean Hersholt, William Dyer, Jack Curtis, James A. Marcus, Lou King besides the entire 10th United States.

Fulton went right after Fulton and clipped him on the jaw with a long right. He missed two more but came in close and beat a tattoo on the plasterer’s body.
At this point Fulton brought his left into action and nipped a piece off Renault’s eyebrow.
Near the end of the round the Canadian hooked Fulton on his trick chin with a right, the plasterer coming back for more.
Renault landed heavily to the head at the start of the second round.
Up to this point, Fulton had been fighting strictly on the defensive.
After getting another right on the chin he recovered temporarily Fulton hung desperately onto the Canadian saving him from going down.
Fulton got another right on the jaw a moment later and was punch drunk; three more followed in rapid succession but somehow Fulton retained a standing position. He wandered across to his corner at the end of the round.
Fulton perked up considerably in the third round and attempted to carry the fight to Renault, applying a series of left-books to the body and jaw.
The Canadian encountered with weighty rights. Fulton settled down to his defensive attitude again before the round was over and took a hard right on the jaw for his pains, just before the bell ring.
Fulton did better in the fourth, carrying the pace to Renault and hurting him with a stiff overhead right. He also scored with a number of left hooks to the body whereupon Renault stepped back and made faces at Funny Fred Just to show him how much he was annoyed.
Renault brought over a right to the head but the punch was too high for damage. He followed with three light jabs and in the following exchange Fulton dropped Renault to the body which seemed very low. Referee O’Sullivan stopped the bout and helped Renault to his corner to examine the boxer. After a brief examination the referee declared Renault the winner on a foul after two minutes and 25 seconds of fighting.
The crowd accepted the verdict.
LOTS OF EATS AND BIG FUN AT OLIVE
Two and one-half breves, 185 dozen bunns, several dozen loaves of bread, two largest size tubs of beans, nearly two hundred gallons of coffee and pickles, sweets, etc., in proportion were served at the big dinner and celebration staged yesterday by The Olive Improvement Association.
Early in the day crowds wended their way to the pretty little city on the east. In a program of speeches, Dr. J. D. Thomas, president and Ben Cole, secretary of the association, told of its efforts and ambitions and knew some convincing statistics. Other short talks were made and some of the associations plans for sale of lots were made known.
One of the choicest lots in the subdivision facing Buena Vista street was given away with the purchase of a small article, the lucky number 13, being held by a Mexican resident of the outskirts of town. He will realize a neat sum on the sale of lot, which has building restrictions.
“The natural amphitheatre” was crowded for ten vaudeville programs given after luncheon. Artist from Los Angeles gave a good entertainment assisted by a splendid concert by Anaheim band.
The celebration was continued throughout the evening with a dance in which Chapman’s orchestra furnished the music.
In all, Olive considers the affairthe banner gathering in her history and today a tired, but happy community takes up its regular duties with renewed energy.

Jack McAuliffe, 11, of Detroit, came smilingly into the ring for his scheduled 15 round bout with Luis Firpo of Argentine. He looked the part of an ancient gladiator, clean-limbed and debonair. He had the manner of a society man entering a drawing room.
Firpo, wearing a bath robe of huge check and serious expression, came on immediately after. Both received a great ovation from the crowd, which numbered close to 70,000. The latin lost no time in proceeding to McAuliffe's corner and after the formal hand-shake, proceeded to examine the Detrolter's gloves. The weights:
