WINNING SIDE
IS GIVEN PARTY
BY GAME LOSERS
The Buena Park Women's club had a delightful afternoon at the home of Mrs. H. E. Warren, when, through its obligation, the losing side, Mrs. Ed Mann, leader, paid the winning side with Mrs. Berkey, leader.
The membership drive opened two months ago, added thirty-two names to the club, making a total of fifty-eight. The club will close in June, and the recently elected officers will be installed at the final meeting. They are president, Mrs. Cummings; first vice-pres., Mrs. W. B. Shaw; second vice-pres., Mrs. George Cole; recording sec'y., Mrs. Carl Shyder; cor. sec'y., Mrs. Grillly. Appointive offices will be filled early next October.
The party yesterday included several games, four tables of five hundred and two of pit and inch. About thirty-jadies were present.
The losing side thought it would be jolly to have a little "take-off" in rhyme on the winning side, so it was originated and read by Mrs. Carl Snyer. The winners having found out the secret, was ready and to the surprise of the losers, Mrs. B. R. Shinh answered with a poppy little verse to the losers. Both were very amusing and heartily applauded.
The club is planning to serve a female supper Tuesday eve, May 15, at 6:30 in the Masonic temple in Buena Park. The proceeds will go to the club house fund which is slowly but surely growing. Everyone is invited and distance is no bar when a tannle super is served.

Anaheim Takes 100 Seats
That Anaheim is interested in the musical production, "The Mikado," and intends to support the Orange-co Choral Union, and particularly the Anaheim vocalists in the union, is evidenced by the order for one hundred tickets which were yesterday reserved for "home folk". The seats are on sale at the Anaheim Book store and are in a choice part of the Santa Ana high school auditorium where the opera will be sung May 23 and 24.
Local vocalists are Mrs. C. A. McCullah, Mrs. A. L. Knipe, Mrs. J. M. Hitchcock and Walter Stokes, all of whom were also in the Bohemian Girl and the Golden Legend, both recently produced. The choral union is under direction of Ellis Rhodes. Mrs. Arthur Arnold May, formerly of Anaheim and whose ability as a soloist as well as an actress is remembered in the presentation of the Mikado about two years ago, will again sing Yum Yum.
