TORRANCE HAS NEW
30-BARREL WELL
With Oil Operators
Torrance gave the So. Calif. district a 30 barrel well when the Standard last week finished its Felkner No. 1. The Felkner well was drilled to 3605 feet. Unless some of the operators find a deep sand with some capacity the Torrance-Redondo field will not be able to make much of a showing.
At Whittier the La Habra Midway Oil Co.'s test well has reached a depth of 5161 feet and at this depth the well is really looking better than it has ever looked before and shows some promise. A coarse sand was picked up at 5135 and is the best the well has shown since drilling started. It is understood that the La Habra Midway will continue to 5200 and failing to find commercial production will abandon.
The announcement that the Murrietta Valley Oil Co. would not proceed with its development work on account of the unfavorable geological report recently rendered by one of the leading petroleum engineers of So. Calif. was evidently without foundation. Advices from the company's offices at Long Beach have it that the company has no intention of backing down, and will go right ahead with the drilling. The company has a rig on the ground and the Orange County Drilling Co. has the drilling contract.
It seems that the Pomona Oil Co. in spite of the fact that a dry hole was drilled on its property when No. 1 was finished at close to 5200 feet has not lost all hope of developing production. The company has the proposition under consideration for the sinking of another test.

HOME ELECTRIC IDEA DEFINITELY PROVEN
The home electric, the "dream home come true", as it has been called, has become the national aspiration of a nation of home lovers according to what happened during the twelve months of 1922. That was practically the second year in which the home electric idea has been tangibly, definitely introduced, as a unit, to the American public beginning in the west and spreading thence to the east.
A survey of activity of the promotion of electrical home demonstrations shows that during 1922 a total of sixty such homes were exhibited, in an equal number of cities, with an attendance ranging from 6,500 to 37,000 persons per home, or an average of 20,000.
