THEATRE PARTY AFTER LUNCHEON ON BIRTHDAY MERRY crowd were guests last evening of Miss Marjorie Clark when they dropped in to help her celebrate her eleventh birthday anniversary. The guests arrived about 4:30 and played games until 5:30 when lunch was served. The pretty birthday cake and the ice cream were the delightful items on the menu. Games were again played while the mothers were enjoying their luncheons and at seven o'clock all went to the California theatre where they witnessed the performance, "The Toll of the Sea." Miss Marjorie was the recipient of many lovely gifts. Enjoying the happy affair were Constance and Melvin Randall, Donald Fergus, Everett Goff, Edward Olmstead, Whitfield Blakely, Grace Skinner, Melba Roquet, Luella Luce, Lorraine Thaxton, Mary Louise Clark, and henoree, Marjorie Clark. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clark were Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Randall and Mrs. H. C. Ruick. Gives Sister Party A very enjoyable time occurred last evening at the Hunt home when Miss tierra entertained with a birthday surprise party in honor of her sister, Barbara. The honoree received many pretty gifts and delighted in showing them to her friends. Games and musical numbers were enjoyed with a daltyn luncheon served after which the attractive birthday cake claimed the attention of the guests. Participating in the surprise were Misses Emma Schadick, Mary and Mabel McGuire, Luelle Van der Veer, Gertrude Hunt, the Messrs Dr. Simmons, George Mayhew, Tom McGuille. Local Woman as Soloist With Mrs. Evelyn Knipe as contrite soloist in Tuesday evening's rendition of the "Golden Legend," by Longfellow, music by Sullivan, the attendance at the concert is sure to include a large number of Anaheim music lovers. Mrs. Knipe's ability as a vocalist is well recognized and her mellow voice of wide range is most appealing, while her charming personality adds to the pleasure of her audience. The "Golden Leoged" is being presented by the Orange County Choral Union next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, April 2, 2 and 4, in the temple theatre, Santa Ann, with Ellis Rhodes directing. The third evening edition will open the annual convention of OR State Federated Music Clubs' convention to be held the remainder of the week in the county seat. Miss Edith Cornell will be contritto soloist the first and third evenings. The Union is planning to present "The Mikado" late in May and has plans for further activities through the late summer and early autumn. Radio Concert at Party A dozen or more of the young set made a pleasant surprise call Sunday evening on Miss Hedwig Gruenemay at her home on East Alberta st. The incentive for the affair was the sixteenth birthday anniversary of Miss Hedwig. Gruenz and music numbers and the radio concert furnished diversion. Miss Gruenemay was the recipient of many pretty gifts. A birthday luncheon with the birthday cake proved a delightful conclusion of the evening hours. The winning lodge in each state will confer the initiatory degrees at big meetings to be held in April, while the losing one will furnish the banquets. Rosewood Camp is now "over the top" with their quota, twenty, but will continue working the remainder of the month. Candidates initiated yesterday included the Mesdames Nettle Tripper, Veronica McIlhane, Rose Vaw Horn, Jessie Black, Lillian Wick. The birthday hostesses, the Mesdames Nettle Schiee, Ruby Klassen, Laura Barr, Marion Niland, Isabel Knox and Stella Utter, gave the lodge a fine surprise. When they were ushered into the banquet hall, the long tables were beautifully trimmed with Easter colors, flowers and baskets, and great plates of fried chicken were ranged along the feetal board. Sandwiches, pickles, eggs, etc., with cake and coffee, furnished a delicious meal. Excellent Music Study Although the wind of yesterday interfered somewhat in the attendance, the Music section of the Elbil club held a splendid meeting at the home of Mrs. T. S. Grimshaw. A review of the life of Bach, called "the father of music," which included an analysis of his style of composition, was able presented by Mrs. Butts. Children Honor Father R. W. Two big birthday cakes, one in pink with green canes, and the other pink with white candles honored the two. Guests included members of the family, among them Walter Schultz and Miss Vera Heins, of Corder Mo., who, with the honoree, Mr. Frerking, are passing the winter in California. La Habra Items LA HABRA, Mar. 27 (Spl).—Little Evelyn Durnbaugh, three year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Durnbaugh (Mary Anley) of Chula Vista near National city has been ill at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Amisley. The little girl was visiting here and was taken with measels, later developing bronchial pneumonia. Her parents arrived Wednesday night. The small patient is reported as improving at present. Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. C. Q. Crumrine entertained with a family dinner at the home on north Haft street. Included in the group were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Crumrine and children of Downey, Mrs. Mary Crumrine, mother of the Crumrine brothers, of Santa Paula. The use of Victory records gave further enlightenment. The entertainment feature opened with "My Wild Irish Rose," sung by the ladies quartet, the Meadnes Schwentker. "A little bit of comedy" was presented by Mrs. Terry. In preparation for the general Ebell club meeting next Monday afternoon, a spirited rehearsal of the numbers for the Easter music was held. W.C.T.U. Regional Meet Regional conference of the W. C. T. U. of the county will be held Friday all day in the Presbyterian church in Orange, opening at 10 o'clock. A pot luck dinner will be served at noon and the afternoon institute opens at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Eva C. Wheeler, state W. C. T. U., president, will deliver an address in the evening. Mrs. Wheeler was scheduled to speak in Anaheim today, but owing to the many Holy week services, it was decided to center Anaheim's interest in the Friday regional meeting and the local union is hoping for a good representation. Morris, president of the local society entertained at luncheon for the guests from away and the members of the hospitality committee. A dainty arrangement of flowers and favors in yellow and white, carrying out the Easter idea made a most attractive table. Covers were laid for Mrs. Neff, Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Warne, Mrs. C. E. Varner, Mrs. J. I. Williams, Mrs. A.D.Schneider and Mrs.Morris. Abrams of Seat- BEEMEN DISCUSS HONEY PROSPECTS A big program has been arranged for beemen by the Beemen's Department of the County Farm Bureau. Roy Bishop, chairman, and C. E. Lush, secretary, have issued notices to 125 beekeepers in the county announcing next Saturday's meeting at the Santa Ana city hall, 1 p.m., which is the annual spring get-together of the beemen prior to the opening up of the season's honey flow. Honey producers from neighboring counties will attend. Riverside-co will send a delegation to submit the so-called Riverside Club Plan of Financing, which proposes to stabilize the honey market. The externe dry weather conditions of the season are of such concern to the beemen and no doubt will receive some attention during the meeting. Several important apiary projects have been started this year by members of the Beemen's Department, including moisture control in the hive, use of large and small frames, control of swarming and others.
