LOCAL GIRL IS DAINTY BRIDE OF D. H. RAIKES
AWEDDING of interest to Anaheim young folks was held in Long Beach Wednesday afternoon when Miss Florine Clara Coykendall became the bride of Dean Horace Raikes. The ceremony was performed in the presence of relatives of the two at the home of Dr. J. B. Klone, pastor of the Presbyterian church, who has been an intimate friend of the family for many years.
The bride, a charming young lady was very dainty in her blue suit, grey shoes and hose and a hat to hauntenize. She carried an arm bouquet of bride's roses. Mrs. Raikes is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Coykendall and is very popular among the members of the young set. She is a graduate of Anaheim high school class of '21. Until six weeks ago she was assistant secretary at the high school. Mr. Raikes is an equally popular young man and is employed with the Federal Drilling Coat at Huntington Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Raikes are now enjoying a several days honeymoon trip and after April first they will be at home to friends at their cozy apartment.
Events of the wedding included Mr. Ann; Mrs. J. B. Coykendall and Walter Raikes.

Anaheim Business and Professional Women's club had a jolly good time that evening when they met in the Elks club for their evening dinner, served at 6:30. Miss Grace Burgess, chairman of the program committee, was congratulating the club on having present three members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra to entertain the guests when in walked three men (girls dressed as men) who were recognized as Misses Ramona Mulligan, Ruth Grim and Marion Wallace. These three on the violin, cello and piano gave several selections... Songs were then enjoyed by everyone. Miss Burgess introduced Miss Josephine D. Randall, community service specialist, who talked on recreational work.
The Southern Beanties Quartet then entered and was introduced. They were Misses Grace Burgess, Lucille Bastian, Mrs. Carrie Lou Sutherland and Mrs. C. A. McCullah. They sang beautifully the first time but the last spasm was a real side-splitter.
In a balloon passing, the balloon in a balloon passing contest the balloon was blown up and had to be passed down the line without letting any air escape. The winning team was given all day suckers.
Another delightful act was given called "Jerry Aims toward Success". Jerry's part was taken by Elisa Schellens; Mrs. Jerry, Lucille Bastian; and Hulda, the ignorant Swedish maid, Mrs. Adelaide Goodson. Jerry was an artist and his success came through a delayed telegram from the forgetfulness of Hulda.
Miss Randall led the club thrush many new games and songs which brought to a close a very delightful evening. There were about fifty members present.

Mr. Knott and L. M. Pickle were up town participating in the Moose celebration and in the meantime the crowd gathered. When the two returned to the Knott home, the crowd was awaiting them to bestow congratulations upon the honoree, thoroughly to his surprise.
Thoughts then turned to playing five hundred. Mrs. Buster Callan and Henry Cordes were given prizes for making high score, with consolation going to Mrs. L. M. Pickle and Vic Ruedy.
After the games, Mrs. Knott asked the guests to form in line to play "follow the leader" with her husband as leader. Some objected but no avail.
