Games for the kiddies were played and refreshments in keeping with the affair they were served. A trip through the tunnel was one of the interesting features.

Hawaiian Program at Club
The Buena Park Women's club meeting drew the usual large crowd and a program of especial merit was given. An impressive description of the Hawaiian Islands was given by C. W. Girgin who resided in the islands for more than twelve years and has there visited twice since. Mrs. R. H. Meyer, who returned but recently from a visit to the islands, also gave an interesting outline of her journey and impressions of the country. Drenny Hawaiian music by a native who attends Fullerton high school added interest and pleasure to the program.
Delicious refreshments were served, the St. Patrick's Day color giving the note. Each guest received a shamrock as a favor. Among the invited guests were Mrs. H. G. Carlin and Mrs. A. R. Fishering, on West Anaheim.

OLD FASHIONED
QUILTING BEE
AT SCOTT HOME
An old-fashioned quilting bee occupied the interest of a company of ladies who had been invited to the home of Mrs. Harry E. Scott to lend a helping hand in her and to enjoy a delicious dinner and congenial day of visiting.
The needle artists, for that is the proper title for guilts, began arriving at 10 o'clock in the morning and, while some of them had to leave early in the afternoon, most of them remained the full day. The completion of three quilts was the result of the labors at well as a jolly good time of visiting such as can be enjoyed in no other manner.
The dinner was thoroughly fine, and was of the reasonable viands cooked in the good old-time manner. The company included the Mesdames J. C. Zimmerman, Emma Gribben, Lea Groos, A. Chapman, Fred Mang, Emma Bremer, J. C. Humphries, William Chambers, Henry Heying, A. A. Mills, Mattie Thompson, Fannie Bruce, V. Bruce, Maud Sanger, C. E. Theme of "Notoriety"
Biggest Theme of All
When picture patrons see the latest masterpiece of Director Will Nigh at the United Theater Sunday they will have something to think about. Their ideas on one of big questions of life may experience a rude shock, but after it is all over, they will probably agree that Will Nigh's presentation of human ambition in "Notoriety" is the naked truth after all.
That secret ambition that rules the highest and humblest, is of course, the desire for success. At first glance, this universal goal seems to be a noble and natural one.
Pigeon Deering, the girl heroine of "Notoriety" sought success in popularity. Realizing that she had no chance to attract attention by her merits, she thought she could win popularity by participating in a society scandal. At first her ambition for fame seemed to be realized. Her name and picture appeared in print, and she was talked about. But the glare of the limelight began to burn. She realized that the press and public talked about her not because she was good, but for the opposite. The disappointment was sad, but it brought home to her that it is better to be unknown and happy than famous and miserable.
