CHURCHES TO SPEND MILLIONS IN BUILDING
NEW YORK—All records will be broken during the coming spring and summer for the amount of money spent in the erection of new churches, parishage, parish and community houses and parochial schools throughout the country.
It is estimated that the coming season will see $57,000,000 invested in new structures devoted to religion. The Presbyterians expect to spend $6,000,000, the Episcopalians $10,000, and building contracts for Roman Catholic churches and other buildings all over the country this year will call for about $14,000,000; Northern Methodists have signed contracts to build and repair churches at a cost of $9,000,000 and the Baptists will spend $8,500,000 for the same purposes. Congregationalists will put $2,500,000 into new structures and Lutherans the same sum, spend a total of about $6,000,000 in smaller religious denominations will building during 1923.

Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Hanmore of Placentia and their two sons and wife, Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Hanmore, and Mr. and Mrs. Keath Hanmore were pleasing in Chino Canyon Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gass and family of Garden Grove were calling on friends and relatives of this lease Friday evening.
Mrs. Isaac Mayfield returned to her home Friday evening from Placentia where she was nursing the W. H. Prewitt family who was very sick with the flu.
L. F. Lemley left over the Santa Fe Wednesday morning for West Virginia after receiving a telegram that his father was very low. He expects to be gone two months.
Mesdames G. S. Hanmore, L. F. Lemley and son Billie, Knax Sellers, Frank McElhany and daughter Lois and Heath Hanmore taken their lunch and went pleasing at Johnny Jump Hill Thursday.
Mrs. Floyd Cheadle and daughter Pauline, formerly of La Habra but now of El Monte spent Thursday evening with her niece Mrs. Isaac Mayfield.
Mesdames Hanmore and Frank McElhany and daughter Lois were up around again.
