Chasin ELKS WILL ELECT OFFICERS TONIGHT The annual election of officers of Elks' Lodge No. 1345 will take place tonight at the clubhouse, and a large attendance is anticipated. The installation does not take place until early summer. There are several contestants for some of the offices. On March 27 the officers will go to Santa Ana to initiate. ASS’N STARTS ON MISCELLANEOUS The Anaheim Co-Op. Orange Ass'n started picking miscellaneous varieties today, the third association to do so. The fruit is looking very well, Manager J. H. Ritchie said today. The association expects to clean up within a feek with four or five carloads to be shipped. Many of the scenes were taken at night, but it was necessary to film several of them during the day. The location selected was thirty miles out from Hollywood in the vicinity of Calabasas. The location was secured for a stipulated time, and it was necessary therefore to burn the candle at both ends before finishing on location. Mr. Duncan worked 36 hours at a stretch without rest. The members of the company snatched winks of sleep as best they could when not actually working before the camera. Some slept on blankets, others on saddles, but none were especially comfortable. "When Danger Smiles" has a background of Spanish atmosphere, such as is found in California inculcated in the traditions of the old settlers. UNION OIL BRINGS IN SANTA FE WELL The daily production of the Santa Fe Springs old field was increased yesterday to the extent of 2000 barrels by the bringing in of the Union Oil Company's Howard No. 4. This well was put on production at a depth of 3924 feet. It is flowing through a five-eighth inch bean. The production runs 24 degree gravity, according to announcement made by the field department of the company.
