WATER ENGINEER OPPOSED TO DAMS There is not a single site on or near the Santa Ana river, improvement of which with a dam would be practicable in the saving of water effected. However, it is possible by extending the present spreading operations to a sufficient degree to increase the supply of water in Anaheim and vicinity by 40 per cent. These are some of the things which George S. Hinckley told J. F. Ahlborn, chairman of the A. C. of C. Water Conservation committee and of the advisory committee of the county. Hinckley, who is city engineer of Redlands, is in charge of the work of spreading the water for the three counties, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside. The Prado dam site, which has been carefully investigated by a committee of the Board of Supervisors, and Filagrie flats, which has been suggested as a site, were both condemned by Hinckley, in that the amount of water saved would not warrant the expenditure required. An encouraging feature of the inches. 65 JOIN IN WILD FLOWER CONTEST The general science class of Fullerton grammar schools under the direction of C. A. MARSHAL WATCHES MAN STEAL FLOUR If Charles Skaggs of Santa Ana had known that a city marshal was driving near him, he probably wouldn't have attempted to rob a truck. Skaggs and a companion ran out, mounted the truck and pulled off a sack of flour, according to the report of Jack Holmes, city marshal at Seal Beach, who was driving on West Fifth-st at the time.
