VAWTER MEETINGS
VERY SUCCESSFUL
Last night another fine crowd attended the Vawter meetings at the big tabernacle. The music as usual was good. Since Mr. Brotherton was called to his home in Missouri, Miss Reaves has been leading the chorus. For five years before joining the Vawter Party she lead the music in evangelistic meetings.
The sermon subject last night "Excusea". The evangelist gave several excuses that men use when asked to accept Christ. The first excuse dealt with was "I am as good as the church member."
"In some epocalic cases that is true," asserted the evangelist. "We find some riten out of the kindom as good as some men in the kingdom but the best man sins so he needs a Saviour." The question is not: "Am I as good as the church member but am I as good as Christ?" The church member is a self convicted sinner. He is a man who is lost and needs a Savious. He has acknowledged that he needs a Saviour and you have not.
"Another man says: 'I don't feel like it.' The Bible does not say feel on the Lord Jesus Christ but believe. Show me a man who follows his feelings and I will show you the drunkard, the moral leper. He follows the evil. Show me the man who crucifies his feelings and I will snow you the winner."
"Another man will says: 'I would come but my mother does not believe that way.' Your mother taught you to follow the Bible, did she not? You agree that she was honest in following what she thought was right. Then if you find that your Bible tells you to do something differently than she did then you will be lost if you do not follow the Bible. You will be paying a greater tribute to your mother by following the Bible which she loved.
The last excuse dealt with was: "I don't believe in revivals."
Yet," said Dr. Vawter, "Jesus was baptized in a revival meeting. John the Baptist, a man sent from God, was holding a big revival meeting down by the Jordan river."
A. C. OF C. ENDORSES CENTENNIAL EXHIBIT
A. C. of C. last night at Brea endorsed A. C. of C. participation in the Monroe Centennial and Motion Picture Exposition at Los Angeles. The matter was presented by C. A. Bosworth who said that instead of bringing 25 leading U.S. senators and congressmen from Washington to Los Angeles by special train, the invitation had been expanded to 100.
President C. L. Crumrine named Messrs. Metzgar, Johnson, Fraser, Raymer and Slabaugh a committee to arrange an exhibit. County supervisors will probably appropriate $1000.
It was voted that beginning with next meeting, which includes the annual election of officers, at Santa Ana, A. C. of C. members will pay $1.50 for the usual banquet.
It was explained that the $1 dinner price had been adopted 12 or 13 years ago when it was possible for women's organizations to whom it is necessary to go for service of such a feed to a large number in small communities could make a profit in the undertaking.
BIG BANK ALARM
AROUSES ANAHEIM
Downtown Anaheim last night about 9:30 that the First National bank was being help up when the big burglar alarm went off with a bang and continued hanging for 15 minutes before it could be stopped.
The night police force responded and found a dozen or more bank employees engaged in the month-end work.
The alarm was accidentally set off when the vault door was opened.

THE SMASH OF THE YEAR!
Laugh With Suzanna!
Door in everything, but joyousness of heart, beauty of soul, spirit and courage; this fun-loving, tom-boy daughter of a sorrowful peon servant rolics her way through the days, carefree, happy, full of innocent pranks and mischief, tricks and cajolery.
Weep With Suzanna!
Then comes Love with all its bliss and all its heart wonderings, doubts, lights and shadows. Her lover is warned by the proud old son, his father, that he must wed Dolores, haughty child of wealth, is marriage to weld two families of historic ancestry.
Be Glad With Suzanna!
Then come misgivings, rebellion, clandestine meetings, hidden mysts and stolen caresses. She learns her right to love, wealth and position—and Fate steps in with her reward.
Romance and Adventure
Red-lipped, dusk-eyed 'senoritas' smile on you. You hear the soft strumming of guitars in the moonlight; luring strains of Spanish love songs; sweet, liquid music of mission bells. Romance all about! Then cold steel clashes in a death fight at the crumbling edge of a towering cliff!
