LITTLE DAMAGE TO FRUIT FROM WIND There has been so little wind this season that the present storm is not taken very seriously, Manager G. W. Sandilands of the Anaheim Orange & Lennon Awn said today. Anyhow, the oranges this season are growing singly to a large extent, which usually happens when they are big, and bruising is expected to be little. A few oranges, including valencias, were blown down in limited sections. Rain is badly needed, altho there is no cause yet for great alarm, according to Sandilands, because March is usually a ratter wet month and April frequently o, also. So far this year only 6.58 inches have fallen against a normal of 14 inches for the county. The further the season advances, the more rain is necessary to overcome the greater evaporation due to greater warmth, said Sandilands. Growers who intend to keep their cover crops in the ground are advised now to irrigate.
