"SHERWOOD," SENIOR PLAY, BIG EFFORT
The senior play, "Sherwood", given the evenings of March 1 and 2 at Fullerton H. S. auditorium by members of the 1923 graduating class, is a Robin Hood promotion, the author being Mr. Edwin Noyes, poet laureate of England.
The setting is the 18th century, during the time of King Richard of England. The characters are those of King Richards court an dof Robin Hood and his outlaw band.
There is action throughout the play that will be representative of the time. Scenic effects and costumes are appropriate to the occasion, much of the costing being the same as that used by Douglas Fairbanks in his famous production of Robin Hood, now showing at Hollywood.
The stage scenery is being prepared by members of the art and of the annual arts departments and the lighting effects have been prepared by an expert in his line.
The effort on the part of the F. U. H. S. seniors is a big undertaking but long practice and able direction insure a production that will be of the usual high order of those given by the high school dramatics department.
Seat sales are on at the high school and at Evans Candy shop in Fullerton. Reservation may be made by phone at either place. Call Mr. H. H. Tracy at the high school, phone 133 or Evans Candy Shop, phone 49 Fullerton.

PALOMAR TRACT IS IDEALLY LOCATED
Sidnam R. alty Co. are congratulating themselves on their choice of location of the new Palomar Tract.
"People who have visited the site," says Mr. Sidnam, "express themselves as delighted with the way this particular land lies. The subdivided acres is distinctly higher than adjacent land across the adjoining streets and is a naturally high and terraced piece of ground. Apparently this site was fashioned by the action of water long ago as we can find no record of the land as being artificially graded. We believe that this tract is actually the highest land in the city and it assures a positively dry building site to the home builder.
"The soil in this particular locality is of the finest in the country as evidenced by the splendid walnut trees that this ground has produced. We were satisfied that these won-

200 PAY HONOR TO STATE COMMISSIONE
A number from No. Orange-co, including Mayor Wm., Eldon W. Stark, Postmaster J. F. Ahlborn, C.C. Chapman, J. Charles Thamer, C.C. Chapman, W.M. I-win, attended the turkey dinner for Nels Edwards, newly appointed to the state highway commission, at St Ann's Inn in Santa Ana last night. Speakers were C.C. Chapman, Edgar Johnson, Bill Hart, James S. Rice, Dr. C.D.Ball, R.Y. Williams, R.J.McFadden, H.C. Head, Joe Burke, Z.B.West, Leon Whitrell and Nels Edwards. There were 200 present. The following was on the program:
NELS IS NOMINATED
"Nels" started out a "Butcher Boy." at this, he always pleased.
His smile, and style and handsome face, elected him Trustee.
His wisdom shown in public life, will always live hereafter.
The mails were bum, stamp 'sales were few, so they chose him for postmaster.
To see Cement upon our roads, was always his ambition.
They picked him out to take the job upon the Road Commission.
"Bry" Williams thought the job was soft and afraid that he would shirk.
A morning bright and early finds him the County Clerk.
He held this job for quite a while and every day grew wiser;
And when his term at this expired, was elected Supervisor.
The Governor in his careful way, started out a fishin'.
He jumped on "Nels"; he took the job, upon the State Commission.
He'll never stop at this big job, we've other things in store,
In 1926 we'll put him in as Governor.
(All in favor say "Aye." Motion carried. Noes not allowed to vote—Item from Steam Roller Press)

Harry E. Scott, local representative of the California Convertable Interest Co., which is dissolving announced that the first check arrived today from the company in re-payment of money deposited for loans. The company which operated at four percent, is returning except the $25 inlating fee all money paid to it.
Scott sold contracts to some 80 Anaheimans and others.
The concern was legal in every way, but of the 1200 would-be homeowners in the state interested, some 556 dropped out, receiving their money, and the company did not regard it as fair to keep the others waiting the longer length of time necessary. Paid up certificates therefore are being taken from the reserve fund released by the commission of corporation.
GIBSON STARS IN
NEW STYLE FILM
An entirely different conception of the American cowboy is presented in "The Galloping Kid", the Universal attraction starring Hoot Gibson at the United theater tomorrow.
The character about which all the action revolves is a tramp cowboy, a derelict of the plains, whose substance is gained by his ready wit, and silver tongue. It is a role which Hoot Gibson's well-known comedy ability fits perfectly. Born and raised on a Nebraskan cattle ranch, there is little that the popular Universal star does not know about the cowboy life.
Edna Murphy, playing opposite Gibson, is the leading woman. She has played the supporting roles for practically every Universal star at screenland's capital city, and in so doing has made for herself, too, a place bordering closely on stardom.
Nat Ross who directed "The Galloping Kid", while still one of the younger class of directors, has had experience ranging from prop boy to production executive to qualify him to supervise the filming of Universal feature productions.
