Miss Parker is leaving the teaching profession for an indefinite length of time and the gathering last evening afforded the faculty members to the opportunity be together with her once more. Miss Kennedy was assisted in the receiving by Miss Maggie Mae Moore of Santa Ana. Games and a musical program was offered by the guests. Miss Alice Grimeshaw rendered several vocal solos and Miss Gladys Campbell entertained on the piano. Mr. Norman Franklin of Santa Ana and Mrs. Edith Ritter were the prize winners in the guessing contests. Miss Parker was awarded the guest prize. A smartly appointed luncheon was served in the dining room from the long table which was very attractive with its pink carnations and greenery interwoven. The place cards, favors and napkins were also of the chosen color. Covers were marked for the honoree, Miss Elenora Parker, hostess, Misses Beryl Kennedy and Maggie Mae Moore, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Community Players' Guests The Anaheim Community Players held one of the very nicest meetings since their organization last evening in the Guild hall, when the Players of Laguna Beach were the guests. The visitors presented a one-act play, "The Slave With Two Faces." Their ability was recognized and the rendition thoroughly enjoyed. Mrs. J. O. Schwentker sang with characteristic sweetness, "If I But Knew," and Miss Florence Springer contributed a reading. Mrs. Paye Kern Schulz was unable to give her number, because of illness. The proposed constitution of the local players was read, but no action was taken. The great problem now is a meeting place. After discussing a new play or two, refreshments were served and a social hour enjoyed. The Santa Ana Community Players had been invited to last night's meeting but were unable to come. The Anaheim players will appear this evening in two one-acts, "Rosa-lee," and "Luncheon for Two," at the dinner and entertainment this evening at St. Michael's Guild hall. Anniversary Party To emphasize the importance of Feb. 12, so far as Mr. H. L. Potter is concerned, a birthday party was given at the Potter home last evening, by Mr. and Mrs. Potter. Five hundred was the entertainment feature, and after games Mr. Potter and Mr. Morris sang several duets. Announcement of prizes gave Mrs. Ramage first lady's; Mr. Leonard first men's; and consolation to Mrs. Sharp and to Mr. Morris. Mrs. Trapp birthday, the wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Trapp and the birthday of Mrs. Gesner, an intimate friend from Los Angeles. An outdoor barbecue had been planned for the foast, but the raft made it impossible so Mr. Trapp co-ruined a grate for the big fireplace and took sole charge of cooking the meat, and again lived up to his reputation. A nephew, Mr. Freeman, took charge of table arrangement and placed the foods on the table in the breakfast room, where it was later served in cafeteria fashion. Much amusement was derived when one guest after another marched to the table for a second helping of the delicious viands. The party remained until late in the afternoon, when refreshments were served. Cards and generals chatting gave the entertainment after dinner. On Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs Claude Freeman, of Glendale, neice of Mrs. Trapp and her husband drowned down and with the Trapps attended the play at the Fairland, "Le George Do It." So George "did" at the barbecue next day. Guests of the occasion were Mr. and Mrs James Trapp, of Norwalk; Mr. and Mrs Arthur Beechwith and son Charles and daughter, Hippers of Los Angeles; Mr. and Mrs Claude Freeman, who, with Mr. and Mrs Trapp and daughter, Florence, made a jolly fourteen. Singleton, mother of the host. The honoree, who was a maiden of the Blue Grass state, is a typical southern woman of charm and hospitality, and was highly pleased with the compliment. In the cheery Southland home, on whose walls hang portraits of ancestors dating to the Revolutionary period, spring flowers, in lavender thits, lent their brightness to the event. Thirty guests sat down to the southern dinner served at 2 o'clock. The table was laid with silver which is an heirloom in the Singleton family, many of the pieces also being of Revolutionary dates. A big birthday cake, with the Eighty twinkling candles, graced the table and was graciously cut by the honoree. Among the guests was Judge A. W. Hutton, of Los Angeles, father of Mrs. D. Arnold Singleton, and a man wellknown in Anaheim. The greater number of the happy party were week-end houseguests of the Singletons.
