JAPANESE INVESTING MORE IN MANCHURIA
PEKING—The Japanese owned South Manchuria railway zone from Dairen to Changchun is going to experience a building boom in the spring and the activity is expected to go beyond the present bonds of Japanese influence and enter Harbin itself.
The South Manchuria railway has already arranged to spend 25,000,000 yen for new structures next year. New railway buildings, stalled improvements, hospitals, technical schools and experiment stations will be included in the program.
This amount is entirely aside from the general program or railway improvement and extensions.
Part of the building fund will be used to erect a hotel in Harbin, this to cost 1,800,000 years, and a hospital. The hospital is needed for the 5,000 Japanese residents of the city.
