The following attended the public installation of the Royal Neighbor Lodge in Santa Ana Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. J. Hammontree, and daughters Chassie and Frances, Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Natland and son Leonard, Mrs. Marion Dallas, Miss Evelyn Aldrich, Miss Mary Evans, Miss Inez Russell, Miss Norma Larson and Mrs. K.S. Hendricks. An interesting program was enjoyed including readings by Miss Norma Larson and Miss Inez Russell.
Six lots were sold in the Ocean Avenue Park tract Monday. This new sub-division was placed on the market about two months ago, and practically every lot has been sold.
George Rolt, Mrs. Emima Holly, Mrs.G.F. Crane, Mrs.K.S. Hendricks and Mrs.E.A. Edgerly attended the installation of the Rosenance Circle of the G.A.R., at Orange Tuesday. A dinner and social time was enjoyed.
The Misses Mary and Irma Lee were home from the U.S.C. from Friday until Tuesday.
The Tuesday afternoon Club was entertained at the home of Mrs.W.J.Newsom, north of town. Mrs.C.R.Downs gave an interesting account of her trip to the British Isles, last summer, which was greatly enjoyed by all present. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess.
Mrs.Jennie White, 70 passed away at her home in Santa Ana last Thursday. Mrs. White formerly reside on the J.V.McConnell ranch south of Garden Grove.
The Beta Sigma Sunday school class of the M.E.church has fitted their room up with rugs, furniture and pictures, which presents a pleasing and attractive appearance.
Mr. and Mrs.Morris Urwick and little daughter Maxine, of Pomona, visited Saturday and Sunday at the home of Mrs.Urwick's parents, Mr. and Mrs.T.E.Niles.
Mr. and Mrs.P.N.Larson and daughter Miss Norma, were dinner guests at the home of Mrs.Larson's sister in Santa Ana,Sunday.

WASHINGTON.—Is a woman's job just a stop-gap until the time when she shall marry?
There been some justification for that belief among employers in the past, admits Miss Mary Gibson, employment manager of Joseph & Feiss Co., Cleveland.
"One of our girls," she says, "on being reproved for some poor work, said to the foreman, 'You needn't act so smart. I can get married any day.' I gotta friend."
But this idea must give way to figures which show that more than one tenth of the married women in the United States are gainfully employed.

Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Summers of Balboa were guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Henry last Friday.
The Arts and Craft section of the Civic Club met at the home of Mrs. Pollard Wednesday, for an all day meeting. Mrs. Stillena of Santa Ana, teacher of Arts and Craft, was present, and assisted Mrs. D. C. Hogue on new work, now under way by the section.
C. B. Henry and wife accompanied by their guests, H. E. Hand and wife of Reedley, attended a surprise party given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Henry in Santa Ana last Saturday in honor of the latter's birthday anniversary. A number of neighbors and friends were present and a most enjoyable evening was passed.
Mrs. Belia Chaffee of Tawtow, Ill., arrived here Saturday for a visit at the home of Mrs. Susan Chaffee. She expects to remain in California for several months.
The Ladies Aid and the Home and Foreign Missionary Societies of the M. E. Church held an all-day meeting at the church parlors Wednesday. Each society held their regular business session in th eforenoon, and at noon a lunch was served, after which the Foreign missionary society had the program.
Rev. Cobb of Los Angeles was a caller at the J. G. Allen home Tuesday.
A committee from the Baptist Young People's Union, consisting of Garfield Allen, George Tyler, Walter Lenhardt, Miss Evelyth Aldrich and Ethel Emerson spent Tuesday in several piano houses in Orange county looking for a plano for the society.

Mrs. H. A. Baker who has been quite ill with pneumonia is improving.
Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Davis have rented their ranch home near Garden Grove and are leaving this week for Wildomar. They are making the change hoping the climate will be beneficial to their health, and expect to be gone a year.
J. L. Sowers sold his home this week to Mrs. Addie Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Sowers will continue making Garden Grove their home as they expect to purchase another home here.

CATHOLIC STUDENTS FORM CLUB AT U. S. C.
As a means of bringing together Catholic students attending the University of So. Calif., efforts are made to form a Catholic Student's club. Those who are fostering the movement are looking forward to the eventual establishment of a local chapter of the Newman club, a national organization for Catholic students in non-Catholic institutions of higher learning.
"Catholics at U. S. C. have little opportunity of knowing or of meeting each other," declared Elmer Klamrother, who is one of the organizers of the club, in a recent interview.
"With the formation of the club it will be possible for students of our faith to become acquainted with each other.
