"The Danger Point," at the United Theatre, is a picture that should be seen for the good reason that it is an enjoyable one—an exceptional drama. It has the rare quality of seeming to be real life, and its characters, people of flesh and blood, rather than a film fable played by human puppets. When it is all over you realize that your attention has been held every minute and that Carmel Myers, Wm. P Carleton, Vernon Cteel, Jos. J. Dowling (who plays what is absolutely his best role since "The Miracle man"), Harry Todd and Margaret Joslin have taken you out of your world into a new one.
The story, like many of the best ones, is simple. It is about James Benton, a quiet, rather silent big man, who lives in a house overlooking the town he has founded and his gradual awakening to the appeal of a girl from the city. They marry because they really love and the rest of the story tells of their attempts to adapt themselves to each other, their mistakes, their exaggeration of trifles and their great misunderstanding. A magnificently staged railroad wreck is the climax and a happy ending is the logical result of it.
