BREA, Jan. 20.—(Sol.) Mr. Geo Bernachoche attended the funeral of Erraca Micheal, 18 years old, last Saturday, who was shot by a playmate Thomas Plotts. Interment was at the Calvery Cemetery, Los Angeles.

Yesterday, or Thursday was a delightful day for a jolly crowd of Brea Folk. They went with the H. H. Townsend Co. sightseeing and drove out through the Santa Fe oil district and from there to Huntington Beach via Downey, Bellflower, Clearwater and Artesia. Then they had a fine lunch and listened to a very interesting lecture from Mr. Harris and were entertained with a quartette of colored people, they certainly know how to sing. Those in attendance were Mrs. Weaver, Mrs. Harvey, Mrs. Taylor and mother Taylor, Mrs. F. M. Chambers and Mr. and Mrs. Will Foster and children and Mrs. P. A. McCall. The day was a day of merriment as well as business and they pronounced it well spent.

ORCHESTRA SHOWS MUCH IMPROVEMENT
A pleased audience listened to the second concert of the Orange-co Symphony orchestra at the Fullerton H.S. auditorium last evening.
Beginning with the opening number, "Atlantis," the listeners were at once apprised of the fact that the orchestra had made material progress since last year and, in fact, since the last concert. The exacting number was played with much credit from the lovely hymn to Morning beginning the suite to the finale which describes in expressive interpretation the destruction of the "Lost Continent." In the last number of the suite in particular the orchestra rose to the requirements in a splendid way.
Equally creditable was the rendering of Nevin's suite "A Day in Venice," its lovely numbers familiar to all concert goers. The Ventitian love song with the lovely duo between the colloe and violin was beautifully played. The "Good Night" was exquisitely rendered. The remaining single numbers were played in a manner that called forth the warm approval of the audience.
The performance of Z. Earl Meeker, baritone soloist, gave unusual satisfaction.
