SOME SAY THAT IT IS INSUFFICIENT FOR THE POTENTIAL VALUE OF ANAHEIM AND THE GREAT COUNTRY BEHIND IT. CAN YOU VISUALIZE THE IMPROVED CITY AND COUNTY UNDER AN INCREASED TAX RATE? WHAT MAGNIFICENT CHANGES COULD BE WROUGHT BY A MORE HANDSOME EMOLUMENT FOR MUNICIPAL UPKEEP. THE MYSTERIOUS COWBOY CARTOONIST IS NOT ADVOCATING HIGHER TAXES, FAR BE IT. THAT IS A MATTER FOR YOUR COMPETENT CITY GOVERNMENT. THE QUESTION IS PROPOSED ONLY HYPOTHETICALLY. THEY KEEP US OFF THEY KEEP US OFF TOPS FOR THE AUTO WORLD TOP NOTCHERS in the Auto World (By The Mysterious Cowboy) There is an interesting place of business down in North Los Angeles Street. It is the Anaheim Auto Works and the genial partners are none other than C. F. Cox and H. E. Winkler—two highly experienced men in their trade—the auto workers who are so largely responsible for the appearance of the automobile. You know them and you know of their expert and indispensable craftsmanship. Their field is the artistic side of the auto world, without it the auto would have little charm in the way of personal appearance. Without a neat top, bright new fenders, tasteful upholstery and the other trimmings that these tops of all kinds; they install glass; they are experts when it comes to body and fender repairing and to welding; they are master body builders (a skilled occupation all by itself); they install and mend upholstery; they Their field is the artistic side of the auto world, without it the auto would have little charm in the way of personal appearance. Without a neat top, bright new fenders, tasteful upholstery and the other trimmings that these two gentleman add to the general scheme of things, the auto would be reduced to a useful mechanical thing—but it would not be handsome. Like anything else, the automobile has a life time. It is generally used a good deal and the wear and tear will come with service and age. But the age can be staved off, the beauty can be prolonged and the auto can still be a pretty thing to look at, instead of a mere automotive thing—useful to get about with, but ugly. Going into the Anaheim Auto Works it will be seen at once that here is the place where the automobile is made to keep up appearances. They are the tailors, the dressmakers—the men that put on the finishing touches. Their work is most diversified—let us see what it consist of. They make and repair auto tops of all kinds; they install glass; they are experts when it comes to body and fender repairing and to welding; they are master body builders (a skilled occupation all by itself); they install and mend upholstery; they cover the body of an automobile with leather (pick out your own selection) and they do a most handsome and efficacious job when it comes to learthing a body; they specialize on repair work in connection with wrecked autos; they serve, in their field, the Southern Calif. Auto Club and the Orange County Auto Club; their equipment is modern and complete and they are leaders in their trade. The Anaheim Auto Works has been doing business for more than one year. Mr. Cox has followed his profession for the past seventeen years, having formerly been located in Los Angeles. His partner, Mr. Winkler, comes from the good old state of Kentucky and has been in Southern Calif. for the past nine years. Like Mr. Cox, he was long been identified with the line of business he is now engaged in. Criss Cross Land L. M. Railsback Co. Implements 114 S.
