NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
SECTION 1. That on the 25th day of December, 1922, the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 169 to order the following described street work to be done in said city, to-wit: that an 18-foot alley, northerly and southerly through the Scenic Tract and extending from the northerly property line of West La Palma Street, be closed up and abandoned, and that a 15-foot alley through Lots 1 and 2. Scenic Tract, the northerly property line of West La Palma Street to the northerly line of said Lot 2, the easterly line of said 15-foot alley being 109.16 feet at right angles westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of North Lemon Street, be opened and extended.
SECTION 2. That the land deemed necessary to be taken for the closing up of the 18-foot alley, in said Scenic Tract, is allotted on the City of Anaheim County of Orange State of California, and is described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the northwestern corner of Lot 10, Scenic Tract; as shown on a map recorded in Book 13, Page 11, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Lot 10 and along the westerly line of said Scenic Tract, 457.26 feet to the northwestern line of West La Palma Street; thence westerly along said northernline 18 feet; thence northerly parallel to the westerly line of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10, of said Scenic Tract, 471.92 feet to the southerly property line of West La Palma Street; thence easterly along said southernline 18.63 feet to the place of beginning.
The line lane deemed necessary to be taken for the opening and extending of a 18-foot alley in said Scenic Tract is situated in the City of Anaheim County of Orange State of California, and is described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at a point in the southwestern line of Lot 1, Scenic Tract; as shown on said map, road point of beginning being 109.16 feet westerly of the westerly property line North Lemon Street; thence northerly parallel to the westerly line of Lots 2 and said Scenic Tract; thence westerly along northernline 15 feet; thence southerly parallel to the westerly property line of North Lemon Street 100 feet to the northerly property line of West La Palma Street; thence easterly along said northernline 15 feet to the place of beginning.
That the exterior boundaries of the district of lands to be affected and located by all of said land and in proverment and to be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses thereof, whither said district is within the City of Anaheim County of Orange State of California, are particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of West La Palma Street and the center line of North Lemon Street; thence westerly property line of West La Palma Street, be closed up and abandoned, and that a 15-foot alley through Lots 1 and 2. Scenic Tract, the northerly property line of West La Palma Street to the northerly line of said Lot 2, the easterly line of said 15-foot alley being 109.16 feet at right angles westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of North Lemon Street, be opened and extended.

One advertisement recently placed in California newspapers by the So. Pac. resulted in the company obtaining the names of 7000 persons living in eastern states as prospective California settlers.
This was revealed today by F. S. McGinnis, general passenger agent of the company at Los Angeles, as he checked over the long list of persons, most of them heads of families, who desire to come to California.
The advertisement was the first of a series prepared by the Southern Pacific for daily and weekly newspapers throughout the state. It drew attention to the special opportunities California offers settlers of all kinds, both from the agricultural and industrial standpoint.
