YOU CAN'T START ANY YOUNGER PLACENTIA PLACENTIA, Jan. 2.—The Kmas program of the Presbyterian church was a most decided success from beginning to end. All the children showed how well they had been trained. At the close of this most delightful program old Santa Claus made his appearance and made many projections of young boys and girls who showed around telltale all their desires for Christmas day. Each child was then presented with a box of candy and nuts. The huge Christmas tree was beautifully decorated and trung with electric lights furnished by Bradford's Electric shop. Funeral services for Kristine May Hansen, age 21, were held on Saturday afternoon in Fullerton Interment was in Loma Vista cemetery. Miss Hansen was a niece of Mrs. Walter McCarland, Charles 'Hanson and Mrs. Arthur Edwards. She was born in this community and has lived here all her short life. She was in training at the Fullerton Hospital at one time. The Manse has had several coats of white paint and as a result is quite an imposing looking place now. The Frank Dowling family enjoyed a family reunion on Christmas day at their home here. Twenty were present and every one of them enjoyed the most delightful day of the season. A delicious turkey dinner was served at noon and was the Christmas gift to the family from Mrs. Florence Rogers of East End Pittsburgh, who is spending the winter at Long Beach. An interesting feature and a pleasant one was the fact that Mrs. Annie H. Paul, great grandmother, aged 87, was present, which made four generations. Mrs. Paul, the mother, her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. After the dinner with the Rev. Frank Dowling, the host of the affair, acting as toast master, impropitous speeches and toasts were made by the different members of the family and several musical numbers enjoyed. The guests included Mrs. Annie Paul Carson, sister of Mr. Dowling, who is the dean of women of the California School of Christianity of Placentia. DELIGHTFUL PARTY AT GARDEN GROVE GARDEN GROVE, Jan. 2.—A delightful dinner party was held at the Garden Grove Hotel Tuesday evening, presided over by Mrs. R. A. Wilcox, when turkey and all the fixins' were served eighteen guests of the hotel. A pretty decorated tree on which was an assortment of joke presents added to the merriment of the occasion. Mrs. Wilcox was presented with a beautiful ivory set as a slight token of appreciation. J. R. Rennals, an ex-service man of Santa H., held the lucky number which won the turkey raffled by the Woman's Civic club last week. The tickets sold amounted to $60, which will go into the club house building fund. Mrs. Frank McConnell is serving of much credit for her efforts in personally conducting the rattle. The Lions club will hold their regular noonday luncheon at the Garden Grove Hotel next Wednesday, Jan. 3. 12:15. Be there. A fundraising party composed of W. D.
