O.E.S. OFFICERS
INSTALLED AT
OPEN MEETING
OPEN installation of officers in
Chispa Chapter, O.E.S., was
attended last night by a record
crowd, and resulted in one of the
happiest evenings in the chapter's
calendar. A program followed the
rituals after rites in which a whistling
solo, by Miss Dorothy Winters, with
her sister, Mrs. Herbert Hunt at the
plane, was the first number. The
Misses Blenda Probst and Evelyn
Maggiathan each gave readings, a harp
solo by Miss Ruth Geiselman; a
Spanish costume dance by Lovenia
O'Toole, with Mrs. Ruth Seitz at the
princess, and a number by the male
quintet, which Mrs. Seitz also accomplished, all were excellent.

Interest in Vaudeville
The vaudeville entertainment at the H. S. Friday afternoon and evening is drawing the attention of the entire student body and patrons of the school and every one is doing his dumbo to make the entertainment the most successful that has ever been put on.
A very pretty act with new scenery and gorgeous costumes will feature the Japanese dance executed by eight dainty dancers, the Misses Cook, Clark, Wadsworth, Hunton, Easton, Borth and Pischen.
"The Pot Boiler" is the name of a comedy skit portrayed by seven talented young folk, Dana Newkirk, Clinton Griggs, Roger Pohman, Rosie Ingram, Marlowe Janss, Emma Hunton, and Dorothy Bishop.
A fashion show which will include 15 of the prettiest girls of the school will be featured and promises to surpass anything that has been staged at local theatres.
A Scotch dance by Helen Daly, Florence Smith, Margaret McOmie and Floma Schneider is another attraction.
The sewing class is making all the costumes to keep expenses at the minimum and the stage craft classes and shop classes are making the sets. The program is well worth while and one should miss seeing it.

Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Artherholt on GARDEN GROVE. Dec. 12. (Spl.) Saturday, Dec. 16th, the people of Garden Grove will vote upon a $95,000.00 bond proposition for a new grammar school, securing grounds and adding necessary equipment, and there is little doubt but that the progressive citizens will overwhelmingly endorse the proposal. Garden Grove citizens are determined to keep pace with the surrounding enterprising towns, and especially is this true in matters pertaining to education, and in order to do so, they are willing to pledge the future. Everyone who is in touch with the present overcrowded condition at the grammar school, knows it is essential that more room be provided. There is a total enrollment at present of 565 scholars, with a daily average attendance last month of 481, an increase of 111 over last year. The enrollment by grades ranges from 48 to 82 pupils, and all of these grades with the exception of the first, have but one teacher. The school is increasing gradually day by day, and to provide for the present as well as future growth, additional grounds and a new building are imperative.
This bond issue has the unqualified endorsement and backing of every civic organization in Garden Grove that is working for the town's advancement.
The C. of C. and the Lions club at recent meetings went on record as unanimously endorsing the proposition, and pledging their support.
The Women's Civic club, Dec. 4, passed the following resolution:
"Realizing the need of a new grammar school building on account of the crowded conditions now existing, we the Woman's Civic Club of Garden Grove do hereby resolve that we support the grammar school trustees in the election of Dec. 16th, for..."
