GOOD PROGRAM IN KATELLA SCHOOL CARNIVAL FRIDAY
Katella School is planning a big carnival and program for Friday evening of this week at 7:30, at the school, the proceeds to be used in buying a Christmas treat for the children. Anaheim High school talent will furnish the greater part of the program after which refreshment of elder, gingerbread, candy, peanuts and popcorn will be enjoyed.
Booths will be arranged in which gifts and goodies are offered for sale, and the fortune telling booth is sure to attract attention, for who is there not desiring to peep into his future?
The following program promises a real entertainment; vocal solos, Will o' the Wisp, and Banjo song, Irene Jaques; reading, Getting Ready for the Train, Eva Wilburn; piano solo, Valse (Chopin) Katherine Carner.
The farce, "Between Soup and Savory," in one act, will prove a laughable number and the characters will be taken by the cook, Fiorence Smith; the waitress, Anna Meyers, and the maid, Roma Tedford, Mrs. Wollerman at the piano. Wallace Walton, cornet; Raymond Leiser, saxophone; Vincent Chamberlain, violin and Carl Wollerman, clarinet, will play several orchestra numbers.
Dutch Supper on Birthday
A Dutch supper was the informal manner in which several friends of Mrs. Alberta Andrews were entertained last evening in honor of the birthday anniversary of Miss Frieda Lord, of Santa Ana.
A repast of weinies, cheese and many other goodies was served in the dining room beautified for the occasion with pepper boughs and greenery, which also were used in the living rooms.
The guests were Miss Lord, the honoree, Mr. Shaw, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Eaton, all of Santa Ana, Mrs. Mary Doolin, and Mr. Sam Whitaker.
Evening Card Party
A happy party was held last evening at the Henry Friese home on S. Kroser-st when they entertained a coterie of friends at cards. Games and other amusements with music and conversation were enjoyed. Refreshments were served in the late hours.
Participating in the hospitality of the Friese home were Mr. and Mrs. Blackwell, Mr. and Mrs. G. Closson and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. Jost, Mr. and Mrs. Krohn and Mr. and Mrs. R. Pleper.
A reading by Amanda Chambers, Jerusalem Artie, will conclude the program, when the reminder of the evening will be passed in having one of the happiest times of the year.

Five birthday anniversaries in two generations of relatives, were celebrated recently at the home of Mr.

Long Beach Hostess
Mrs. Eugene Mock, now of Long
Beach, is a "charter" member of the
Martes club, and retains her membership, although she has left Anahelm to live. Yesterday, the regular meeting day for the club, she entertained at the home of Mrs. M. E.
Keithley, and in a setting of holiday
greens and flowers a pleasant afternoon was passed over five hundred.
Prizes were won by Mrs. Kenneth Peck, first, Mrs. D. Herdebeck,
second, and Mrs. W. Kaufer, consolation. Mrs. Henry Husmann substituted for Mrs. Emma Gibbren and other players were the Mesames E.

Mrs. A. K. Dahl was a very gracious hostess yesterday afternoon when she entertained the members of the Sixteen club. Flaming poinset-tas, ferns and roses were attractively used as the decorations.
Five hundred was enjoyed until late in the evening after which a dainty three-course luncheon was served.

Visit Friend in Chino
A bevy of Anabeim ladies motored to Chino yesterday where they delightfully surprised Mrs. C.H.Fisher.
The ladies took well filled baskets with good things to eat and at 1 o'clock a delicious luncheon was enjoyed.
The afternoon was pleasantly passed with sewing and conversation.Included in the gathering were the Mesames Charles Merrill, Chino; Fred Schneider, C.D.Harrison,V.W.LaMont,G.T.Ingram.W.Junge,L Bonnat, Joe Stroup,Frank Mauer,and Victor Bonnaut.
Episcopal Auxiliary
The Woman's Auxiliary of St.Michael's Episcopal church will hold the regular meeting at 2:30 Thursday in the guild hall.As it is the date for election of officers and this program for the coming year will be submitted, it is desired that as manl as possible in the parish will attend.
Mrs. Delphia Redfern has been visiting in town for several days,Mrs.Redfern came down from Dexter on business and will return Monday.Cecil Allen and wife will remain as Mr.Allen has secured employment with the Standard Oil company.
The Woman's club will pack a box for the Balboa Park hospital, of crippled soldiers. This will be done at the next meeting in December.
The Red Cross drive met with quite satisfactory results $150 being turned in with some yet to come.

Book Lovers to Ontario
The Book Lovers club enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon yesterday with Mrs. A. C. Hargrave at Ontario. Mrs. Hargrave has prepared a splendid repast for her guests and the luncheon hour was filled with visiting and lively chatting. Afternoon was passed over the discussion of Christmas books and their authors.
All members except Mrs. Deming were present, motoring over for the meeting. They are the Mesdames Harry L. Sears, H. H. Benjamin, J. H. Swan, L. B. Easton, Leonard Evans, S. S. Collins, H. A. Johnston, Henry Adams, J. P. Brastad, G. M. Simpson and H. D. Newkirk.
South Dakota Picnic
The South Dakota annual state picnic, which was postponed on account of rain, will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, in Bixby Park, Long Beach. As there are many South Dakotans in Anaheim, this will be interesting news.
Mrs. George Hamler has been confined to her home the past week with illness from a bad cold.

Mrs. Frank Sidener is rejoicing over the arrival of a granddaughter born this morning at Anaheim sanctuary to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Corey of Santa Ana.
Mrs. Alberta Andrews went to Los Angeles today where she will remain several days attending to business affairs.
William Abplanalp, of Lincolnave., is in Palo Verde this week looking after property interests.
Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Strange, of Greenfield, Mass., arrived this morning at 3 o'clock to pass the winter with Mrs. Strange's sister, Mrs. Wm. Abplanalp, and family.
Mrs. Anna Puffenburg will hold circles in the First Spiritualist church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 and in the evening at 7:30.
Mr. and Mrs. George Settle moved today from 128 S. Melrose-st. to 600 E. Sycamore-at.
Mrs. H. C. Ruick made a business trip to Los Angeles yesterday.
O. E. Hanson and friends took in the races at Beverly Hills Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Wheeler and daughter Naomi were Sunday visitors in Los Angeles.
Miss Rose Wagner passed the week-end with the W. K. Suiter on S. Brookhurst-ave.
Mr. A. C. Winney and two sons of Corvallis, Oregon, arrived in Anaheim and will spend the winter with L. J. Winney, brother of the former. The brothers had not met for 30 years and their meeting was one of the happiest in their lives.
Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Johnson and two children and Mr. and Mrs. Robert McKee of Fullerton visited Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Ruick Sunday evening.
Misses Roberta Wagner and Murl Gossett and Messrs Frances Elliott and Art Wilmsen attended the Beverly Hills race Sunday.

WEST COAST, Dec. 5.-The newly organized ball team will resume play next Sunday at the West Coast lease under the management of John E. Cooney.
Mr. and Mrs. Mears and son Harold attended the races at Beverly Sunday.

The West Coast Oil Company's baseball team will resume play next Sunday at the West Coast Lease under the management of John E. Cooney. It will practically be a rebuilt team, as there has been new players added the line up for next Sunday's game will be, Cullen, c.; Chevalier, p; Schuyer, 1b; Braner, 2b; Sorceable, ss; Lyke, 3b; Jones, Jc. Brott, cf. and Duarte rf. This club will give any club in Southern Calif., a run for its money.

Study Latin America
The Missionary society of the Christian church held a very interesting and successful meeting yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. George McGuire. After disposing of the business, the lesson on Latin America was lead by Mrs. Addie King and assisted by Mrs. G. W. Belshaw and Mrs. Margaret McGuire. A good attendance added zest to the meeting.
