HUNTINGTON BEACH CLAIMS ATTENTION
With Oil Operators
Huntington Beach is claiming a large share of the attention of oil operators and the public. In the last week the field has taken on more new development operations than the past year has shown, and the production has climbed to the almost unbelievable figure of 65,000 barrels.
The Amalgamated Oil Company's Miley-Keck No. 11 is cited as an example of what wells are doing at Huntington Beach. Miley-Keck No. 11 was completed two months ago at a depth of 4213. At the time of completion the well did not attract a great deal of attention starting off at 1400 bbls. The production increase has been steady and now after two months the well is making 2960 barrel, more than doubling its initial output.
The old Texcal Oil Co. will be in the running strong again in a few months. The holdings of the Burk and Grant properties have been taken over by L. T. MacMahon and "Van" McCutheon, the wells will be redrilled and deepened and some real production developed. MacMahon is an experienced oil man and McCutheon is the man who drilled all the big wells for the Republic Petroleum Company. Texcal stockholders can expect some big results from these men and perhaps get some dividends come day.
The record well brought in by the Petroecum Midway company on the Columbia 1-1 property is holding up splendidly and signifies that the deep production now being developed at Huntington Beach has not pocket or flush. Columbia 1-1 came in at 3440 and has settled down to 3200 bbls. Volmer-Meyer 3 another big one rated last week at 2200 barrels has increased its output to 2700.
The Union Oil Co. got a nice prow in the dep sand on the Brooks lease. Brooks No. 2 drilled to 4545 came in a 2400 barrel well and is standing in a standby position.

Huntington Beach production was increased 2300 barrels by the Standard Oil Company's two wells Huntington B-10 an 800 barrel producer in 4483 and Jones Community in 1600 barrel well completed at 1360. Much interest is attached to the Standard's Fannsworth No. 1 now standing cemented at 4860 feet. Should this well make a commercial producer and it looks like it will, it takes the honor of the deposit producing well in the country.

It seems that some lease bound or flush promoter attempted to make Buena Park an oil field a few days ago by announcing that the Standard had struck a big well. It is plorable that the oil industry is preyed upon by the unserupulous, and so many false impressions are created. The fact of the matter is the Standard's Buena Park well is quietly drilling at 5400' and has found nothing that would justify any rush for holdings.
The Seal Beach Oil Co.'s test well has passed the 4000 foot mark and those interested are becoming just a bit anxious about the outcome of the well. The drilling is now under the supervision of R. S. Crans former Petroleum Midway operator, he will find it if it is there.
