MILLER YET TO BE FLOPPED ON COAST
EVERYTHING is ready for the big wrestling show at the Anaheim Athletic Arena tonight. Both Mabee and Miller are in the best of condition and are ready and anxious to go.
Just a hint as to how good Miller is. It has just been learned that he can handle with ease Hackenmith, the man who gave Roy such a tussle a few weeks back. Stroff, the 195-pounder of Taft, was going so well lately; failed to throw Miller. Since leaving Lincoln one year ago, he has wrestled all corners and has not been thrown once. There is no question as to his ability.
The preliminaries for tonight's show are going to be great. It brings together R. C. Weber and Charles Winslow. Weber wrestled Earl Craddock, one time world's champion, before the Olympia club of San Francisco in 1915 for the world's amateur championship. Winslow is the man who put Mabee on the hummer about a year ago while Roy was training for the Sparkes match. Roy vouches for the ability of Winslow. Weber strips 195 lbs., and Winslow 210.
Gee its going to be some show! Remember the time and place, 8:30 at the arena at the Sugar Factory. Seats may be reserved at the Elks Club, United Cigar store and Anaheim Barber shop.
PUBLIC-SPIRITED SPORTSMAN BRINGS QUAIL FROM MEXICO
Dr. Lee C. Deming, ardent West Anaheim sportsman, has obtained a state permit to import 2000 quail. He is a member of the famous Im Grulla Gun Club of Ensenada, Mexico, located on the most ideal hunting ground imaginable, a level valley covering eight square miles entirely surrounded by range after range of virgin deer and big game territory which makes it one of the largest privately controlled game preserves in the world.
At his own expense, Dr. Deming has already imported from Ensenada 500 quail which he has liberated.
HARRY LEE, BEACH PHENOM, WILL FACE 1-ROUND ANDREWS
A match that has all the appearances of a fight with bella fireworks n'everything to it is the one that Manager Billy Darnley, of the local Palais de Swat, expects to dish up to his loyal boxing bugs Friday when he will bring together Harry Lee, the sensational 155-pounder from Huntington Beach, and a gentlemen of color with the cognomen of "One-Round" Andrews who claims San Francisco as his residence.
This Lee person is only a beginner, practically speaking in the ranks of the four-rounders, but he is without doubt, just about the best looking prospect of his weight now appearing before the public in this part of the country. Lee is like the veritable tiger in the ring once he starts and there is no let up until he or his opponent is stretched out on the canvas, generally it is the other fellow who listens to the "birding clung" for Harry is sure one sweet hitter.

Deming has already imported from Ensenada 500 quail which he has liberated in the district between Magnolia and Cypress. He has previously imported such game birds, bringing Bob whites from Kansas. His total imports to date are 1000.
Most of these quail have their wings clipped so they will remain in the vicinity where liberated. It is a state law that imported birds may not be shot. Dr. Deming has been appointed a deputy game warden. He urges that ranchers of the district post their property for at least two years and notify him of violators whom he will arrest.
He believes that within two years here will be more than 5000 quail in the district, making hunting for everyone.
CITY PARK READY WEEK FROM SUNDAY
The first ball game played in the Anaheim city park will probably be staged a week from Sunday. City Manager O. E. Steward announcing today that he had promised the diamond would be in shape for play by their time. No arrangements have been made for seats.
"While the field may not be as smooth as desired, we have proceeded with plans as outline several months ago by city council, despite the present plans for a city bond election which would provide funds for complete development of the park," said City Manager Steward.
Anaheim Elks ball gamers will probably continue play throughout the winter, if the city park field proves desirable. While Manager Billy Knott's direction of the club terminates with Thursday's championship game with Santa Rosa at Santa Monica, he expressed a willingness today to assist in any way he could to boost the game thru the winter.
Anaheim will play the San Pedro Merchants at San Pedro next Sunday in the second of a three-game series. The locals are determined to get their batting eyes back and show the harbormen they were not at their best last Sunday in that 3 to 0 defeat.
CITRON 15. ST. JOSEPH 6
The St. Joseph baseball team bowed to the lads from the Citron-at school yesterday by a score of 15 to 4, the game being played on the Francisco as his residence.
This Lee person is only a beginner, practically speaking in the ranks of the four-rounders, but he is without doubt, just about the best looking prospect of his weight now appearing before the public in this part of the country. Lee is like the veritable tiger in the ring once he starts and there is no let up until he or his opponent is stretched out on the canvas, generally it is the other fellow who listens to the "birdie cling" for Harry is sure one sweet hitter.
Lee, at present, is employed as life guard at the beach village and besides has a school of physical culture when naturally keeps him in the best of condition. He is built on the lines of a young giant and if not rushed ahead too fast should make a name for himself in the ranks of flistiana."
Andrews will be a worthy of foeman for him. He is a wise old bird, and just as rough and tough as they make 'em. He and Lee ought to bring the house down with the greatest scrap ever pulled off at the local fistic emporium. Huntington Beach is coming up in full force to watch their Idol and cheer him on to victory.
Manager Darnley is also going to give the fans what he considers another treat, having matched that scrappy youngster of his, Johnny McGraw, to do battle with Joe Garcia of Santa Barbara in the semi-windup at 125 pounds. Garcia is an old pupil of Darnley's, one of his real stars when he was running the Santa Barbara club and Billy says that If Joe is anything like his former self, then McGraw is due for an artistic leasing. Garcia is right now boxing the top place on the weekly shows for the Santa Barbara club and going like a house affire, according to reports. He holds a decision over Packy McMullen, the lad that McGraw stopped in three rounds at last Friday's show. It ought to be a whale of a battle, accordingly.
McMullen is after another crack at the local boy and there are many who believe the L. A. lad is entitled to same. While it is true that Johnny Mac stopped him yet Packy claims it was a lucky punch at the very beginning of hostilities that put him on queer street for the remainder of the fight and he could not get going after that. He will in all probability have the chance he is after.
For the balance of his card Darnley has four snappy preliminaries lined up that promise to be the best ever. Some scrappy youngsters are being signed up and they are going to be real battles that ought to set 'em all wild.

The lightweight football eleven of Santa Ana and Anaheim high schools played to a tie yesterday on the forwards field. The score 4-0 showed a Francisco as his residence.

17½ acres excellent three year valencias, fully waterstocked. A-I valencia territory. Potential oil land but priced strictly on its merits as a grove at a trifle over two thousand dollars per acre; no charge for oil possibilities. Ordinarily it would take $20,000.00 cash to handle this but circumstances permit us to deliver it on a down payment of about half that amount. A genuinely good investment.
FOUR ACRES
With a cash-money, right-now income. Big six year valencias good crop set and boulevard location. Gas sewer and electricity handy. A real grove that is already more than paying its way. If you have $3500.00 to pay down we can deliver this fine tract at only $12,000.00.
