NEW ELECTRIC SHOP OPENS SATURDAY Opening its doors next Saturday in the Kraemer building, the Triplett Electric Co. will offer to the Anaheim public one of the most attractive and well equipped store-shops of the kind in Orange-co. Triplett has been the contractor for the light, power and fixtures of both the Kraemer and Arnold Kraemer buildings and has been doing electrical contract work here for a year past. Saturday's opening will be notable. The store will be decorated with American flags and flowers, and Triplett now is endeavoring to obtain a handsome set of panellied calendars, showing the evolution of light, done by Maxfield Parrish, the famous American artist, as permanent decorations for his side walls. Two women and a man representing the Western Electric Co. will demonstrate household appliances in the handsome balcony which comprises part of the company’s quarters. The concern has a space 14 by 115 with repair shop in the rear, while the balcony measures 14 by 24. Done in a handsome grey, with plenty of show space, including two large, modern show windows, this store is a decided credit to the city. The concern will specialize in Edison Mazda lamps, the Premier vacuum cleaner, the Western Electric washing machine, the Hotpoint appliances and bungalow and commercial fixtures. Triplet already has made good and then some in Anaheim, and promises a service unexcelled in Northern Orange-co. “Tittman’s” for Quality For the man with whom quality is paramount, but not at the expense of style, we offer a selection of the new leathers and lasts in Footwear for this Fall sure to please. Alexander Morales was the first proprietor of the store, and before him the old Anaheim opera house was located on the site. In 1919 Adolph Hartmann tore down this frame building and erected the Hartmann block. Early this year he added another Hartmann building next door at a cost of $27,000. Here Gatti's meat market and the Blue Bird drapery shop are established. The first grocery store where the East Side Grocery now is was opened in 1910. Hartmann, himself a pioneer, is the son of one of the first Californians who ever pased thru Anaheim, F. A. Hartmann, who saw the city in 1870 when he drove to Sonora, Mexico, on a pack train. Adolph Hartmann always has been a booster for Anaheim, and has remained so in spite of his removal to Los Angeles. One of the improvements he has urged is the extension of the electric lights up Center-st to the tracks of the Santa Fe railway. "No, but the day we opened our studio three years ago on first coming to this wonderful state, was my son's birthday, so Mrs Stein and I decided to dedicate our work to him." "Photos of distinction" is the slogan of the Harold studio and each FROM CELLAR TO GARRET IN ONE DAY The Federal House Cleaning company is a late enterprise of Anaheim which has just completed a most satisfactory job for the United Theaters, in thoroughly renovating and cleaning the Grand theater. UNITED THEATRE READY FOR OPENING The United Theater, formerly the Grand, which will open its doors on Saturday as a first class motion picture house, is practically a new building, following the repairs that are being completed today. The interior has been completely redecorated, a wonderful new silver nitrated curtain has been hung, a modern projection room built in, a 6,000-watt electric sign hung above the entrance, the famous Vitagraph release obtained to ensure worthwhile programs, and an efficient staff secured to give the public first class service. A well known electric company which does all the company's work fits up a projection room which is the final word in up-to-dateness. It contains two picture machines, a spot light machine and a stereopticon, products of the Simplex factories, and every known device as well as certain new means of fire prevention has been adopted to forestall any possibility of flames getting beyond the room in case of accident.
