BLUE BIRD SHOP GETS XMAS. STOCK The Blue Bird Draperies Shop is receiving a line of lovely Christmas articles this week, to meet the plan of doing your Christmas shopping early. It would take a book to tell of all the pretty things in stock and Mrs. Canby says there are more coming in. Of course there's the regular line of draperies and art goods which they keep up to the latest mode. The tasty gift of moderate price appeals to the general public and here may be found articles which are kept no place but in an exclusive art shop. Among them are the Esther Hunt casts, purely decorative, of course, but who wants nothing but useful things in a room; with scant eye to beauty? Each cast has an individual name, and is made to sell for a stated price everywhere. Matched boudoir sets for the tiny dressing table piece to the big, squashy pillow are most attractive, too. The silk pongee lingeries, pajamas, nighties, all done in hand embroidery, are the "darlingest things" Handkerchiefs by the dozen, no two of the same color or design, compose another handsome gift. But what's the use? Just go in the shop and see for one's self. LETTERS FROM THE PEOPLE Mr. J. H. Ritchie, manager of the Anaheim Co-Operative Orange Ass'n, in reply to an article presented through the Orange County Plain Dealer a few days ago, in which the California Fruit Growers Exchange stated that their organization had been guaranteed by the Pacific Fruit Express that it would be supplied with all the cars that it requires for the shipment of fruit, states as follows: "The Mutual Orange Distributors through which the Anaheim Co-Operative Orange Ass'n ships its fruit, has taken this matter up both with the California Fruit Growers Exchange and the Pacific Fruit Express." HOWARD AND BEEBE ATTEND CONVENTION Judge J. S. Howard and Bert Beebe left today for Fresno, where they expect to meet other realtors and go from there to attend the meeting of the State Reality Convention at Huntington Lake Saturday. They expect to go from there to the grand encampment of the I. O. O. F. Tuesday at Modesto. SANTA FE SPRINGS OPERATORS PLEASED With Oil Operators Santa Fe Springs operators are gratified with the wonderful showing the wonder well of the field. Butterworth No. 3 is making. This well was put on production 3 weeks ago at 4696, a 2650 barrel, 34.4 gr. well. The production has declined only a 100 barrels and the high standard of the gravity has been maintained. At Buterworth No. 2 the Amalgamated had the misfortune to loose 4160 feet of hole and is moving the rig. Dallugge No. 2 in the oil sand at 3945 has all the earmarks of a big well. The Federal Filling Co. presented the Machris Brothers with a nice well on the Off property. Off Nolwas completed at 3904, started off at 800 barrels and increased its output to a thousand barrels. Water broke in on the Co-Operative Oil Syndicate's big well and disturbed it equilibrium a bit. At 3803 the Cooperative was producing 2800 barrels when the water trouble developed. It is not believed the situation is serious and that are-cementing will remedy the difficulty. Production in the vicinity of the Coalings-Mohawk's McClintock now looks like 5000 feet or possibly deeper. Showings at 4800 feet are of little importance. The Standard Oil Co. set the production pace at the Spring last week with two big wells. South Whittier Community No. 2 at 4612 came in a 1500 barrel well. While this is a little deep, it put the Whittier Community property in good favor. Walker No. 1 the first producer on the Walker lease came in a 1600 barrel well at 3738. Walker No. 1 is making...
