News of Fullerton CAMPAIGN STARTED FOR LEGION PARADE A general campaign in behalf of the Armistice Day Celebration at Fullerton is to be begun tonight at the meeting of the Fullerton Woodmen when the matter is to be brot before that body by George Esmay. It is planned to carry the message into every town and hamlet in the county, and leave no organization uninformed as to the ideals for which the Legion stands, and the plans for Armistice Day speakers are to be arranged for at both men's and the women's organizations. At the meeting of the committee in charge held today the following men were appointed as a nucleus for the speakers' committee in the men's organizations campaign; John Gardiner, chairman; S.C. Hartranft, H.L. Wilber, Harry Maxwell, G.A. Raymer and C.B. Hutchinson. The following were appointed on the women's portion of the campaign; Mrs. Belle Benchley, Mrs. Eron Johannessen Mrs. Albert Launer and Mrs. Harley Brewer. Dr. William Maxwell of Fullerton is to bring the matter before the G.A.R. at Orange Friday, and is planning to continue bringing it before the civil war veterans at their various meetings. He has been assured that there will be no "carnival gambling joints" at the celebration. ART EXHIBIT AT FULLERTON LIBRARY The exhibit of Dey De Riboowsky, Russian Marine painter, was placed on display today at the Fullerton public library. R. Solomon, Ribowowski's manager, being in charge. The exhibit has been at the Anaheim C.O. for the last week. The greater number of the picture are Cal scenes painted by the great Russian artist, including the afterglow at Santa Monica the land's end at the Golden Gate and deep sea pictures. There are also a few flower pictures by Mrs. Florine Hyer, who has the reputation of being the best flower painter. KIWANIS REPORTS ON S.D. CONVENTION The regular meeting of the Fullerton Kiwanis Club was held at noon today at the I.O.O.F. hall, the meeting being devoted largely to committee reports. A good time was reported at the convention at San Diego. It was voted to paricipate in the Armistice Day celebration in the parade or with a float. The speakers of the day were Messrs. Nellis of the Whittier State Reform School, and Chamberlin of the Salvation Army. FULLERTON BRIEF'S Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Muckenhaler of Fullerton are the proud parents of a boy who came at the Fullerton hospital. W.H. Warburton, ticket agent at Fullerton for the P.E., has returned from a two weeks' vacation. R.L.McMichael who was relieving him left today to report at oLs Angeles. W.N. Hunt of the Fullerton Realty Co. is spending his vacation at Santa Monica. Mr. and Mrs. F.H.Jones of Fullerton are the happy parents of a girl who came at the Fullerton hospital over the week-end. J.R.Marshall has taken out a building permit with E.S.Richman, building inspector, for a $3,500 residence on So. Spadra-rd. W.S.Faris has also taken out a permit for a $2,500 residence at 801 West Commonwealth-ave. C.H.Snavely of the vicinity of Anaheim left last night over the Santa Fe for a trip to the east, including Virginia, Washington, D.C., Florida and Texas. He expects to be gone until about the first of the year. H.A.Dicksen of the Santa Fe office at Fullerton, and his family, expect to spend about ten days at Laguna Beach on their vacation. Both are now getting along nicely. S. P. CAR LOARDINGS UP Car loadings of the Sou. Pac. increased 15 per cent in September over the same month in the last two years. On the entire system 32,421 cars were loaded in the first 27 days. MOOSE DANCE TONIGHT The Royal Order of the Moose is to give a dance tonight at the I. O. O. F. hall, all persons who are eligible to membership and all visiting Moose being extended an invitation. JUDGE "JINES" 'EM UP Walter S. Talett, 52, of Fullerton, and Lillian P. Willsce of Los Angeles were married by Judge Howard at his office on So., Los Angeles-st. The couple immediately left on their honeymoon for "part unknown." and the meeting are not expected to b large until after it comes. M. M. Turner of West Orange-thorpe-ave, who was recently hurt at the beaches in trying to dive in shallow water was taken to Anaheim today-in a McAula ambulance for examination. M. A. Hope x No. Cal., was in Fullerton today calling on his friend G. A. Ramer, secretary of the Fullerton board of trade. Mr. Hope is manager of the California Title Insurance Co. Mr. Raymer hopes to locate him in Orange-co. IN SOCIETY Players Present Skit Interest in the monthly meeting of the Community Players for Thursday evening is running high, as presentation of the play, "The Florist's Shop," will be made. With five characters, all enacted by capable, altho anateur men and women and a theme full of laughable situations, the first monthly skit promises much. The cast includes the following: Miss Maud, Mrs. Horbert Sullivan; Henry James Hawkins; Miss Wells, Lrs.Harry Sears; Mr. Slovsky, J. G.Soupelt and Mr. Jackson, Phillip Goodell. Kenneth McClellan is in charge of stage setting and properties and is arranging a perfect initiation of the regular shop. Wicker furniture, rugs, baskets of flowers and hanging baskets all are artistically and effectively placed on the restrum of the Eastside grammar school, in Fullerton. All members of the Community Players and their friends are invited to see the play. Harry Brisco is in charge of all music. At the business meeting prior to the play, Prof. Askin will announce the name of the first big community play and assign the characters. The assistant directors will also be appointed for the two coming monthly skits. There will be a short meeting of the governing board to vote upon the matter of changing the meetings from Thursday to Monday nights to avoid conflict with other meetings. Delphian Circle Meeting The meeting of Mrs. J. H. Swan's group of the Delphian society is announced for tomorrow afternoon at the home of Mrs. E. E. Smith, 1130 West Center-st. Moose in Social Evening A large class was initiated into the local order of the Royal Order of the Moose last night at I. O. O. F. hall. After a short session,the members with their wives and families and friends held a dance, there being about 50 couples. Light refreshments were served. Music was furnished by Heffner's orchestra. 52 VISIT PACKING HOUSE LAST MONTH There were 52 visitors registered at the packin house of the Anaheim Orange & Lemon Ass'n during September according to the record.
