LONG BEACH MEETS
ANAHEIM HERE SAT.
THE blue and gold eleven of Anaheim H. S. is faithfully working out each afternoon in preparation for the season's first battle with Long Beach which will be staged on the local griddle Saturday.
The lightweight will have a game at 1:30 and the first team game is scheduled for 3 o'clock. Coach Filiott's men have the signals to a "T" and some excellent plays are sure to astound the spectators.
This game is the first and only practice skirmish the locals will have before their first league game Oct. 7. Each Saturday thereafter Anaheim foot ball men will meet some other Orange league team, Saturday, Nov. 11, excluded. The local line-up has not been officially announced but will be made known in several days.
The field is being graded and the lines marked. It will be ready for a speedy game, Saturday. Season tickets went on sale today at the high school. These will admit students to all activities at rate much lower than single admissions.
S. P. ISSUES WEEKLY
HUNTING REPORTS
If you want to know where duck and deer hunting is good ask any So. Pac. agent.
Reports on local conditions in all the principal hunting districts are sent in each week to the general offices by So. Pac. agents. These are compiled into bulletins and dispatched weekly to all agents in order that they may furnish hunters authentic information on wild game.
RATTLING PRELIMS
FOR FRIDAY NIGHT
Three rattling good preliminaries have been lined up for Friday's boxing card at the Athletic Clubs Arena on the Sugar Factory Grounds and some torrid action appears likely to balance the main event that brings together Jack Iman, Santa Ana's pride and Clever Tom Kelly, of Los Angeles, in a return match, as well.
SARGUM PREDICTS
SENEGALES CHAMP
WON'T LAST LONG
By Sargum Sprout
These "federners" are raising cane in the fistic world. Only the other night a Filipino upset our flyweight champ. Now a Senigalise gent has put Carpentier out of the heavy-weight contender class, and it looked as if Carpentier was all the real contender there was and he was not a real one. Nevertheless he hit our Jack a couple of times in the second round of the title go and rocked Jack from stem to stern. He hit this Siklent with everything he had for three rounds and did not distress the Senegalese to any great extent. What we are wondering about is just what Jack Dempsey's iron duke, would do to the French Darkey.
We will bet our last summer's right shirt that no gent on earth can take all Jack can dish up for three rounds and come out smiling for the fourth. Yet Jack has been very active the last twelve months or so.

RATTLING PRELIMS
FOR FRIDAY NIGHT
Three rattling good preliminaries have been lined up for Friday's boxing card at the Athletic Clubs Arena on the Sugar Factory Grounds and some torrid action appears likely to balance the main event that brings together Jack Iman, Santa Ana's pride and Clever Tom Kelly, of Los Angeles, in a return match, as well as Hank Gatten, another of Santa Ana's good ones, and Jimmy Murphy, also from the city of Angels, who will mix in the semi-windup.
Darnley has that fast, clever youngster, Young Montoya, from over Placentia way, down for a seto with Tommy Nichols of Los Angeles. Nichols has appeared here once before when he met and lost to Leonard Lee of Denver after four fast rounds of milling. Tommy is a fast, willing performer and will give 'Tobby' all the fight he craves.
Those two, hard-hitting welterweights, Young Terry of Whittler and Bud Baker of Long Beach, will again try conclusions and Baker hopes to reverse matters this time out. Terry slipped over a sleep pellet in the last meeting several weeks ago but it had been nip and tuck up to that time. Danny Herrera, another Santa Ana leather pusher mingles with our own Johnny Nandes in the curtain raiser at 122 pounds.
And yet, trying to pass another star is but little more hazardous than trying to pass another tariff bill.

We will bet our last summer's night shirt that no gent on earth can take all Jack can dish up for three rounds and come out smiling for the fourth. Yet Jack has been very inactive the last twelve months or so. If he doesn't get busy soon he will have to make a comeback, and we don't know if he is another Roy Mabee.
The new European champ is great on the Paris night life, they say, and we are willing to bet our summer's wardrobe that no gent can buck Paris night life for long and still be a champ. We predict that the New Flash's career will be short. It was difficult to have him train for this last bout. What will it be since he is a champion? If they want Jack to knock him out, they had better hurry before he knocks himself out by fast living.
CHIROPRACTORS MEET
Various chiropractors of Orange Co are expected to attend the semi-annual meeting of the Progressive Chiropractors' Ass'n, to be held at the Hotel Alexandria Saturday afternoon and evening. Dr. Edwin Doutt will preside and Attorney Griffith Jones will speak on "Chiropractors in California" and appeal for the initiative bill to be on the November ballot.
