ROTARY ENDORSES CHILDREN'S RELIEF
The Crippled Children's Relief Ass'n calls attention to the fact that the International Rotary at its annual convention recently in Los Angeles passed a resolution favoring such work in each community where the club is represented.
The following in No. Orange-co are receiving subscriptions: Mrs. M. E. Canby, association secretary; 236 West Center street; Mrs. Thomas H. McPadden, Placeia; and Mrs. Emmanuel Smith, Fullerton.
Here is the Rotary resolution:
"WHEREAS, Rotarians have vention of the International Association and have expressed a desire to assist in bringing to crippled children physical correction and surgical relief and education in cases where such treatment will be of benefit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the 13th Annual Convention of the International Association of Rotary Clubs commend this humanitarian activity on the part of the Rotary clubs so engaged, and direct attention thereto of the delegates present at this convention, that their own clubs may like cognizance of the movement as offering an opportunity for service in their respective communities."
EXTENSION COURSE FOR ORANGE COUNTY
An organization meeting under the auspices of the Univ. of Calif. Extension Division for a class in English to foreigners will be held in the Fullerton H. S. Monday night, Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m.
This class is directed by Miss Ethel Swain, and is designed for teachers and others interested in social service work. For teachers, the course carries credits toward a special secondary certificate in citizenship.
Following the organization meeting at Fullerton, part of the class meetings will be held at Santa Ana if sufficient interest in the course develops. Additional courses in Orange-co will be established later if a demand appears for them.
Bulletins and information concerning the varied subjects offered for spare time study by the university extension system may be had at the extension, Junior Orpheum bldg., 815 South Hill-st. Los Angeles.

—Mrs. Weston Smith is assisting at the public library this week while Mrs. Adam Theis is having a week's vacation.
The ranch home of Mr. Leroy Johnson was the scene of a merry gathering on Tuesday evening. Guests arrived from Long Beach, Los Angeles and Huntington Beach Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Knight and children from here, being also in the party, Dancing and music were enjoyed until a late hour when the host served coffee and sandwiches.
Mrs. H. I. Lund of Santa Monica is visiting her daughter Mrs. J. I. Geissinger and family of Newell avenue this week.
Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Selover were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Elchler of Olinda Thursday evening.
Mrs. Lucy Quigley is moving this week to the home of her son Mr. George Quigley of El Cajon street. Mrs. Quigley will rent her town home.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Vernon left Wednesday for their home in San Francisco after a month spent with relatives here. They came down to attend the wedding of Mr. Vernon's sister, Miss Marie Vernon whose marriage to Mr. Warrick Murray was solemnized on August 30th.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Handy of Santa Ana wee visitors at the home of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Conley on Wednesday.
Mrs. Charity Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Warrick Murray and Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Walker spent Thursday evening with friends at Santa Ana.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Robertson of Rose Drive, have as their house guest this week, the latter's aunt Mrs. Rhoades who motored through Missouri and arrived on Thursday. Mrs. Rhoades plans to start home again the first week in October.
Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Sparks of Rose Drive were recent Los Angeles visitors.
Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Yerrington entertained Dr. and Mrs. Hitt of Los Angeles the first of the week.
Mrs. Rebecca Sparks of Los Angeles is a guest of her son and family Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Sparks this week.
Mr. and Mrs. I. F. Conley are beginning preparations to have some remodeling done on their ranch

Do you own any 4 3-4 per cent Victory Notes? if so, look at the distinguishing letters on them. If the letters are A, B, C, D, E, or F prefixed to the serial numbers, the bonds are redeemable on or prior to December 15th at the option of the holder at par and accrued interest to the date of such optional redemption. ENOS MILLS, FAMOUS NATURALIST, DIES
DENVER, Colo., Sept. 22. — Enos Mills, famous naturalist and author of outdoor stories, died Thursday at Longs Peak inn, Estes Park, following a brief illness. Mills was widely known as the "father of the Rocky mountain national park system."
In the case of registered notes, interest payments will be made simultaneously with the payments on account of principal.
Notes surrendered with the May 20, 1923, coupon detached will be redeemed, but the fact amount of the missing coupon will be deducted and held in the treasury to provide for the subsequent redemption of such missing coupon.

Punch and wafers were served and the parents and teachers enjoyed meeting one another in the social meeting that followed.

Sunday, October 1st will be Rally day at the Congregational Sunday school. A special program has been prepared and all are invited to come.
Mrs.' J. S. Schofield has been called to Long Beach by the serious illness of her mother-in-law.
The Eastern Star will entertain with a hard times dance at the Temple on Tuesday evening. A prize will be given to the lady and gentleman wearing the tacklest clothes. Good music has been provided.
