SEEK BODY OF GIRL IN MERCED RIVER
YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK,
Cal., Aug. 8. Search was under way today in the waters of Merced river for the body of 17-year-old Elizabeth Jones, daughter of Prof. L. W. Jones, head of the department of chemistry of Princeton university, who late yesterday slipped from a rock on which she was posing for a picture and fell 60 feet into the river.
Her father, who was taking the picture, attempted to save her and managed to clasp her hand. He narrowly escaped being carried over the cliff.
Professor Jones has been lecturing this summer at the University of California.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORK
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
SECTION 1. That on the 27th day of July, 1922, the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 162 to order the following described street work to be done in said city, to-wit: That North Zeyn Street in said city be opened and extended from the northerly line of West North Street to a point three hundred thirty, and seventy-five hundredths (330.75) feet northerly therefrom; also from the northline of West La Palma Avenue to the southerly line of North Los Angeles Street.
SECTION 2. That the land deemed necessary to be taken for said work and improvement is situated within the City of Anaheim, County of Orange State of California, and is described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the most easterly corner of Lot 14, Bellair Tract, as shown on a map recorded in Book 12. Page 22 Miscellaneous Maps of Orange County, California; thence southerly parallel to the westerly line of North Los Angeles Street 330.75 feet to the northerly line of West North Street, thence easterly along northerly line 53 feet; thence northerly parallel to the westerly line of North Los Angeles Street 330.75 feet; thence westerly parallel to the northerly line of West North Street 53 feet to the place of beginning:

Beginning at a point on the southernly line of Lot 1, Babinger Sub., as shown on a map recorded in Book 7. Page 23; Miscellaneous Maps of Orange County, California; said point being 18.69 feet easterly from the southwesterly corner of said Lot 1; thence northerly 105.64 feet to a point on the northline of Lot 2, of said Babinger Sub., said point being 10.78 feet westerly from the northeasterly corner of said Lot 2; thence easterly along the northerly line of said Lot 1, 76.32 feet to a point; thence southerly 64.83 feet to a point on the southerly line of said Lot 1, which is 73.56 feet easterly from the said southwesterly corner of Lot 1, thence westerly along said southerly line 64.87 feet to the point of beginning.
That said Board of Trustees did therein specify the exterior boundaries of the district of lands which said Board of Trustees therein determined and declared to be affected and benefited by said work and improvement, and to be assessed to pay the dam.

All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance to an act of the Legislature of the State or California, entitled "An act to provide for laying out, opening, extending, widening, straightening, or closing up, in whole or in part, any street, square, lane, alley, court or place within municipalities, angle to condition and acquire any land and property necessary or convenient for that purpose," approved March 9th, 1889, and all acts amendatory thereof or supplementary thereof.
