PRETTY WEDDING
UNITES POPULAR
PLACENTIA PAIR
ONE of the prettiest of July weddings was solemnized last eve at 8 o'clock at Placentia, at A.Ipsen home, when their daughter, Miss Mabel became the bride of Clayton Landreth. The vows were exchanged neath a wedding bell of white carnations, lined with greenery. The Rev. C. H. Gage was the officiating minister.
Proceeding the ceremony Bentley Farmer very appropriately rendered "I Love You Truly." The wedding party took their places to the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march played by Miss Jessie Salter. The handsome bride was very attractive in a pretty creation of white crepe de chine with floor length veil, caught with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of roses and fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Rena Beale, wore a dainty yellow crepe de chine picture hat and carried a bouquet of yellow roses and fern. Little Miss Dorothy Key, niece of the bride in a fluffy organdy was the ring bearer.
After the ceremony a wedding luncheon was served, at which forty guests were seated.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Landreth are very popular among the younger set of Placentia and surrounding towns and their many friends will wish them the best of luck in their new environment.
The couple left last evening for Santa Paula to spend their honeymoon and upon their return will reside at La Habra where the groom has provided a cozy little home.

Two Hoosier Picnics
Considerable interest is manifested in the "Hoosier" picnic which will be held tomorrow in Birch park, Santa Ana. Baskets, heaped with lunch-eon, will be in excellent taste and style, and a cup, plate, spoon, etc., will help one along in the big mid-day feature, for there may be something on the side to warm the hearts of all good Hoosiers.

Beach Party Closes Contest
As a closing phase to a music contest between students of Mrs. C. A.
McCullah of Garden Grove and Anaheim, a party at Anaheim Landing was held last evening. Almost one hundred of the pupils, parents and friends enjoyed the treat, Cars left Anaheim and Garden Grove at 5:40 loaded with good things to eat and happy children. Some went swimming while others played games on the sand.
A huge bonfire was made and then wienies were roasted and other good things were devoured. Ice cream was on the menu as well as marshmelows. Campfire stories and song were enjoyed and at a late hour the party returned to their homes. Prizes in the contest were given to Neva Fay Gardes of Garden Grove, and Margery and Elizabeth Mott of Anaheim.
Song Revue Popular
That the song revue is a very popular method of entertainment is proved by the recent successful program given here by Liberty Court, Order of the Amaranth, and by a similar entertainment given by Santa Anna O. E. S. chapter recently.
Among the popular songs which may be enacted convincingly are "I Love You California!", "Silver Threads Among the Gold," "Rose of No Man's Land," "Sheik," "Old Fashioned Girl,'" The Vamp," and "Star Spangled Banner," which makes a most beautiful conclusion to any series of songs.

Wright Bill Up to So. Calif.
Fate of the Wright Liquor enforcement bill, which will come up at the November election, rests with the people of Southern California, said Dr. H. H. Briggs, superintendent of the Anti-Saloon League, in his address to the Presbyterian synod, which closes tonight, after a week's conference in Pasadena.
Dr. David G. Wiley, general secretary of the board of church erection, told of the projected community church work throughout the state, and that $1,000,000 will be spent in buildings the coming year. Forty new buildings are going up in Los Angeles this year for Presbyterian work.
The synod went on record as favoring pensions of at least $1000 per year for all retired ministers. New officers were elected for the coming year, and the new field service force enlarged by about fifty members.
Many members of the local Presbyterian church have been attending the sessions, among them Rev. T. H. Walker, the pastor, who has received a world of pleasure and rich benefit.
Glad to Get Home
Mr. and Mrs. M. V. Stewart and daughters, Betty and Lenore, returned home last evening from a six weeks motor trip, their northern destination being Victoria and other places in Canada. They report a most enjoyable trip and experienced no trouble until they were only a few miles from home, when they ran over a tack. Although they saw many delightful places and had a wonderful trip, it's "California and Anaheim for me," each one said.

Christian Girls Very Busy
The young ladies of the Christian Church are looking forward with delight to their proposed social which they gaily term a "sock social." They are meeting each week to manufacture cute little socks by hand, and in answer to the quarry, "when will the social be held?" they reply, "when we get the socks all made." That is why the girls are so busy sewing each week.

DOCTOR ORDERED WOMAN OBEYED
Took Lydia E.Pinkham's Vegetable Compound and is Now Well
Chicago, Illinois.—"You surely gave women one good medicine when you put Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound on the market. After I had my baby I was all run down and so nervous it kept me from gaining. My doctor did everything he could to build me up, then he ordered me to take Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound with his medicine and I am now a new woman. I have had three children and they are all Lydia E. Pinkham babies. I have recommended your medicine to several friends and they speak highly of it. You are certainly doing good work in this world."—Mrs. ADRITH TOMSHECK, 10657 Wabash Ave., Chicago, Illinois.
There is nothing very strange about the doctor directing Mrs. Tomsheck to take Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound. There are many physicians who do recommend it and highly appreciate its value.
Women who are nervous, run down, and suffering from women's ailments should give this well-known root and herb medicine a trial. Mrs. Tomsheck's experience should guide you towards health.
