EVERYTHING is set for the big wrestling match tonight at the Grand theater. Taro Miyake, the Japanese champ jin jitsu expert, arrived in Anaheim yesterday and look as fit as a fiddle. He is not so tall as Roy Mabee, Anaheim's wrestling rancher, but is more stocky, with unusual development of neck and shoulders. He is accompanied by his Japanese trainer with whom he is scheduled to give a jin jitsu exhibition at the Union League club in Los Angeles tomorrow evening. Mabee went thru his final workout with Vic Baden before the Rotary club yesterday afternoon on the Elks' mat. A large gallery displayed much interest as Mabee demonstrated the various holds. While not entirely rid of a cold which has bothered him somewhat for more than two weeks, Mabee professes and looks to be in A-1 condition. There was some difference of opinion today between the principals as to length of the match. Mabee favors a limit of 1½ hours, in case it is not a fall game inside that time, while Miyake is holding out for two hours. The question may not be decided before this evening. The preliminaries promise to be worth the price of admission. Since his two recent victories over McClain, the Santa Ana deaf mute, there has been much speculation as to how Foss, the Perris valley husky would stack up against Vic Baden, Anaheim garage man. Tonight fans will be given the opportunity to determine this point. The mat is down on the Grand stage and arrangements have been made for a capacity house, indicated by the heavy advance sale of pasteboards Louis Heffern will be on hand with a seven-piece orchestra which will entertain the fans before the preliminaries start promptly at 8:30 p.m. and during intermissions. Keenest interest was manifested by fans today in the Plain Dealer announcement yesterday that Mabee will go right after championship honors if he wins tonight. The possibility that Anaheim may see a worlds' wrestling championship decided has aroused the interest of all those keen about clean athletics. Matchmaker Billy Darnley has signed these two classy welters for his feature attraction and it should prove the biggest drawing card of the season. This will be in the nature of a return match both boys having met once before at Dreamland Boxing club at San Diego, about three months ago. On that memorable occasion, they furnished the fans just about the greatest four-round battle ever pulled off down that way. Golindo came within an ace of knocking the colored lad for a row of hen-houses in the first round when he floored him for the nine count, only to have Dudley come back and almost do the trick on him in the fourth. It was as exciting as anyone could care to see and the draw verdict met with approval. Both boys have been clamoring for a return match ever since, and if the Friday meeting is anything like the previous set-to lovers of the monly art are due for another real treat every bit as good if not better than last Friday when Ad Rubidoux and Danny Martin gave the natives as classy an exhibition of ringwork as has ever been witnessed anywhere. Golindo is one of Vernon's real old warriors. He is a slugging fool from start to finish and Dudley is not taking any set-up for he is one rough, tough gent in the ring. The colored boy will be in his usual tip top-form and it will be "some fight," so Mr. Dudley expresses himself. Clever Paddy Dillon, who is rapidly coming back to the front once again, will be asked to tackle some hard game when he stacks up against Johnny Dempsey, the youngster who set all Hollywood wild with excitement last Friday night in his bout with Sailor Hackley. Paddy is being given the semi-windup position once more as, true to his promise, he has been faithfully training and when right, there isn't a featherweight in this neck of the woods that has a Baseball Standings PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE W. He and Dempsey figure to be a real bright spot on the card next Friday eve. Three good preliminaries are also on the bill and another large evening of sport seems assured. Frank Barrieau, Canadian welter-weight champion, who boxes Bert Colima in the main event at Jack Doyle's Vernon club tonight, is an old chum and club mate of Billy Darnley, athletic manager of the Anaheim Athletic club. Barrieau and Darnley used to be a couple of the old standbys of the Vancouver Athletic club in happy days gone by. Barrieau is still at it with his mitts, while Darnley is now on the other end of it, watching the other fellow use his mitts from a promoter's standpoint. The French-Canuck is still in the game and Colima will have no easy time of it. Darnley had figured on being in Barrieaus corner this evening but on account of our own Roy Mabee's tussle with Hon. Taro Miyake at the Grand theatre. Who Did She L One lover was a noble aristocrat, young, most handsome; her rescuer and protector.
