LOCAL FRUIT
TOPS N. Y.
MARKET
Valencia orange brands of the Anaheim Orange and Lemon Assn. topped the market yesterday in New York, but showed that the comparatively large size of the local brands was responsible.
Anaheim Gloriana, not a Sunkist brand, however, brought $11.17, the highest price of the day, of any brands whatever in the national fireworks. There were 30 boxes of Delicias averaged $10.95; compared with these prices for other brands in the same class; Red Fox, $10.25; Carmenitas, $9.90; Everite, $8.15; Searchlight, $8.35. Two hundred and ten cars of Delicias were sold in New York.
Favoritas brought $8.85. Ninety-four boxes of these were sold in New York.
All of these Anaheim brands were of the 216 size or larger.
In the 100 size Delicias brought $13.40; in the 126, $13.40; in the 176, $11.55; in the 216, $9.60.
Prices of Carmenitas ranged from $12.00 for the 176 size to $8.90 for the 250s and averaged $9.90.
While it is uncertain just how long the association will continue to ship, last year shipments continued almost until Nov. 1, and Manager Sandilands expects Valeneias to go out until well into October.
