STANFORD GRADS GIVE FEAST FOR LOCAL ATHLETES LOCAL students of Stanford University and a number of the leading athletes of Orange county schools were the guests of Orange-co. Stanford alumni at a barbecue at Orange-co. park last night. A bountiful feed was enjoyed, followed by an informal social gathering during which "old timers" enjoyed again in gleeful reminiscence the incidents of past college days, and present students met the founders of the University's traditions, while local high school graduates became acquainted with the college men and caught a glimpse of the glamour of college life. Dudley DeGrott, captain of next year's varsity football squad, Morris Kirksey, Stanford springer, and a number of other students and alumni from Los Angeles were among the guests. Orange County Stanford students present at the barbecue were Glen Hartrantt, Harry Shipke, Talbot Bielefeldt, Horace Allison, Milburn Harvey, and Billy McGee. She will remain indefinitely with her aunt, and already many trips to places of interest have been arranged, among them the one next Sunday to Azusa to visit for the day. PAGE STARS, MASONS AND FRIENDS IN HAPPY OUTING EASTERN Stars and their families enjoyed the biggest outing of the year last evening, as an order, when they hied themselves to Bixby Park at five o'clock, for an elaborate picnic dinner and jollification. Arriving, the ladies quickly spread the feast, while the men and children put in some time working up an appetite appropriate to the outlook and the occasion. Witty speeches and good natured valillery kept the diners in a merry mood, to say nothing of the content brought to the men by the excellent food, for all Eastern Stars recognize the old saying as gospel truth, that "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach." After the uninteresting feature of collecting dishes, the party adjourned to Seal Beach where the pavilion had been reserved for the event. To the strains of excellent music, furnished by the "Melody Men," the Messers, Brastad, Sackett, Johnson and Krasel, dancing furnished the entertainment the remainder of the evening. Although tired, the drive home in the lovely moonlight was no small part of the enjoyment of the evening. Fully one hundred Stars, Masons and their guests were present at this, the best outing given by Chispa chapter. White Shrine Initiates The White Shrine order held a very successful meeting just evening in the Masonic Temple in Fullerton, when a class of eight candidates was initiated into the order. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound Restored My Health Hornell, N.Y.—"I was in bad health but there didn't seem to be any one thing the matter with me. I was tired out all over and it was an effort for me to move. I was irritable and could not sleep nights and had trouble with my bowels and at my periods. It seemed that nearly everyone around me knew of your medicine and wanted me to try it, so at last I took Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound Tablets and Lydia E. Pinkham's Blood Medicine and improved every day. I do all my own work now except the washing and do it with ease. I can accomplish as much in a day now as it would have taken me a week to do last winter and I try to get every one I know to take your medicine to build them up. You are welcome to use this letter as a testimonial if you like."—Mrs. Chas. Baker, 21 Spencer Ave., Hornell, N.Y. In almost every neighborhood there are women who know of the value of Lydia E.
