Mr. and Mrs. Bill Johnson spent Sunday at Orange-co park. Mr. Happy Earl Johson spent Sunday at Balboa. Mr. James Gilee and Mr. Eurnferd of Los Angeles visited James Gales parents; Mr. and Mrs. Gale of this lease, Sunday. Mr. Fred Gale and wife and daughter Rachel June, of Brea, visited Mr. and Mrs. Gale of this lease Sunday. Mrs. Gale and daughter Marjoria attended the Eastern Star meeting at Fullerton Saturday night. Mrs. Ruth McQuire visited Los Angeles Monday. Miss Willie Ryan and Kate Ford of the West Coast lease are now spending a few days at Balboa. Mr. and Mrs. Borgan and children Christina and Richard, visited Al Cox of Los Angeles, Sunday. Mr. Bill Schuyer and Marguerite Flynn spent Sunday evening at Balboa. Miss Verna Brazilton of Los Angeles is staying with her sister, Mrs. Jack De Morris. Mr. and Mrs. Schryer and daughter Olive, and Mr. and Mrs. Andrews, entertained Sunday as their guest Mrs. Alvin Schryer and daughter Viola, Mrs. Fairbain and son Clyde, and granddaughter Francis Jean, and Mr. James Hunker and son Earlyn, all of Olive. Ferguson of Texas, who was impeached during his second term of office, Ferguson decided not to take any chances of being ruled ineligible so he solved the problem by getting his wife to be a candidate. The result is that when the State Democratic Committee meets in Austin the committeemen will find applications by husband and wife for the same office. If Ferguson's name is not allowed on the ticket because of his impeachment, his wife will take the Senate race and in this event Ferguson will campaign for her and if elected he will act as her private secretary. KEOKUK PUBLISHER MOVES TO SOUTHLAND C. F. Skirvin and son, C. J. Skirvin, have arrived in Santa Ana from Keokuk, Iowa, and will be joined soon by Mrs. Skirvin, to establish the family home there. Mr. Skirvin will be remembered by many of the 75,000 Iowaans now in California as the owner and publisher for the past seventeen years of the Keokuk, Iowa, Daily Gate City, one of the best newspapers in the southeastern part of the state. Mr. Skirvin recently sold the paper, and is now gratifying his ambition of years to reside in the Southland. He has been a frequent visitor in Santa Ana, the last trip about three months ago. The Skirvins plan to purchase a home and will settle down to happiness and contentment in the land of sunshine and flowers for the remainder of their days. MINERS POLICY MEETING WASHINGTON, July 11—July 15 has been set for a meeting of the policy committee of the United Mine Workers of America, which will consider a proposal of President Harding that the present wage scale hold until Aug. 10, while a new agreement is being concluded. Mother and baby are doing fine. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders are now the proud parents of a baby boy born to them Friday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Grimenger spent Friday at Los Angeles. Mrs. George Cullen and George Cullen, Jr., and Mr. Schryer attended Masonic Lodge at Yorba Linda Thursday night. Miss Gertrude Lyle is staying with Mr. and Mrs. Pete Coal of Placentia, for a week or two. CHARGE GRAFT IN SEATTLE SEATTLE, July 11. Charges of graft and mismanagement of the county ferry system are made against 10 men prominent in Kings-co., who have been indicted by a special county grand jury.
