SPORTS MIDDLEWEIGHTS TO FEATURE TONIGHT Middleweights will feature the Athletic Clubs weekly boxing bill at the Arena on the Sugar Factory grounds. Matchmaker Billy Darnley has Bert Tribby and Jim Conlon to offer as his main event. Tribby is well known to local fans and needs but little introduction. He is reported to be in the best shape in months and if that is the case Conlon will need all he has besides a good record and a bunch of newspaper clippings. Both are buskies and pack a mean punch. Dutch Meyers, Bert Collins manager, and one of the best all-around authorities in the boxing game around the Angel City, is voucher for Conlon's ability as a good ring man and says that Tribby will have no set up. Dutch is the boy that ought to know for he wouldn't handle any fighter that can't produce. So, fight bugs hereabouts are due for a real treat. Much interest is being manifested in the return match between Paddy Dillon and Joe Chaney. Both boys put up such a good goof of it last week that they were immediately wematched. It should be the class of the evening. Little Leonard Lee, classy Denver bantam, is determined to show fight fans of Anahim that he was far from right when he lost to Ted Levin recently by going out and administering to Tommy Nichols a real whipping. Leonard feels that he is right and expects to have little trouble. The Sacramento youngster may spring one of those surprises however, by treating Lee to another whipping. It should be a sweet bat-til as Lee is out to redeem himself and Tommy wants a crack also at Ted Levin. The preliminaries promise to be a bunch of fireworks too for Art Espinosa, clever local lightweight, will tangle with Young Terry, hard hitter from Whittier. Tony Ross, another good puncher will meet Lee Gattee, just out of th navy, while CASEY, THE COP WELL I GUESS I'LL TOPDLE OVER AN HAND THAT NIFTY LIL MAID A LINE WHEN SHE GETS THE MILK! CELEBRATE FOURTH BY BLASTING ROAD Summer camp for Orange co. Scouts, in the San Bernardino mountains, is rapidly being repaired, according to Willard Smith of the camping committee who has just returned from there. There are nine older boys on the grounds getting the camp ready and the Red Fox Orchards Co. of Orange, sent in nearly four tons of equipment Monday. A real Fourth of July was enjoyed by the boys on Tuesday when a road was blasted out of very solid rock, leading into the camp site. Smith said that the buildings were being constructed and the pipe line would be laid the last of this week, bringing water to the kitchen and wash house. In commenting on the sights, Smith said that it was one of the most beautiful sights he had ever seen. The camp site covers a little more than four acres completely surrounded by yellow pine, jeffrie pine and white fur with one of the cold mountain streams running along one side of it. It should b a sweet batil as Lee is out to redeem himself and Tommy wants a crack also at Ted Levin. The preliminaries promise to be a bunch of fireworks too for Art Eslinosa, clever local lightweight, will tangle with Young Terry, hard hitter from Whittier. Tony Ross, another good puncher will meet Lee Gattee, just out of th navy, while Young Montoya from Placentia will endeavor to give Eddie Crispen of Anaheim a boxing lesson in the curtain raiser. Proceedings will start promptly at 8:30 o'clock. Billy Darnley will referee all bouts. CLANCY SAYS MONDT WILL THROW MABEE Joe "Toots" Mondt, giant Colorado grappler, is expected in Anaheim this evening to windup his training period for the big match next Tuesday evening at the Grand theater with Roy Mabee, local runner-wrestler. He will workout at the Elks club where Mabee also has been working out. Al Sparkes may act as wrestling partner for the Colorado man. "Doc" Clancy, physical director at the Elks club, is dubious over Mabee's chances. Clancy is acquainted with Mondt's activities in Colorado and has seen him wrestle. "Mondt has met some of the biggest wrestlers in the country," says Clancy. "That and the fact that he weighs Mabee at least 15 pounds prompts me to believe, much as I regret it, that Mabee wilt not be able to stay out the agreed 60 minutes with him." Mabee is going thru most careful training in order to be in the best possible shape for the affair. He is doing road work and is working out on the mat at the Elks club. ORTON AND RUBIO DRAW LAST NIGHT Babe Orton, fast 125-pounder of Anaheim, was only able to get a draw in his return match with Kid Rubio last nine over at San Bernardino in spite of the fact that Babe scored two knockdowns and had a big shade all the way. The judges agreed that Rubio was entitled to a dawr for a last round flash. It was every bit as good a bout as last week's. So good, in fact, that Promoter McFarland of the Gate City Club promised to give them the main event next week. If that falls thru, the local club will bring them together in a couple of weeks, probably holding down the semiwindup as last nite. Smith said that the buildings were being constructed and the pipe line would be laid the last of this week, bringing water to the kitchen and wash house. In commenting on the sights, Smith said that it was one of the most beautiful sights he had ever seen. The camp site covers a little more than four acres completely surrounded by yellow pine, jeffrey pine and white fur with one of the cold mountain streams running along one side of it. The view from the site of Mount San Bernardo is one of the attractive features of the site, and it is less than three miles to the snow line. The elevation is about 6500 feet. There is adequate room for baseball, volleyball and other sports which will be enjoyed by the Scouts who attend from time to time. Registration for the first period which opens July 12th is coming in at a very fast rate. It is fully expected that the first period, which is limited to 75 boys, will be filled by Saturday morning. FIGHT K·K.K.IN IMPERIAL EL CENTRO, July 7—Plans to cust members of the Ku Klux Klan from office in Imperial-co, are being made by T. D. McCall, secretary of the Imperial County Taxpayers' Association, who has communicated with Attorney General U. S. Webb thru his attorney Pat Cooney. McCall also will seek to have another grand jury called to investigate the Klan. LEGAL NOTICE TATE UNDER EXECUTION In the Superior Court of the County of Orange/State of California.
