FAMOUS BEAUTY IN VAUDEVILLE AGAIN
Maryon Aye is back in vaudeville! This statement will bring joy to thousands of vaudeville lovers. It will bring sorrow to as many movie fans. For Miss Aye has for two years been starring in the silent drama. In that time she has won a host of admirers and followers and her recent decision to return to her old love has been the cause of no little comment from cinema circles everywhere.
Miss Aye comes to the California theatre today in a brand new vaudeville act which however, has a decided bearing on the picture study: The play is set in the inner stages of a motion picture studio and Miss Aye has compiled and will offer some exceptional pastor and songs; but over a la movie queen.
Miss Aye has toured the Orpheum and Keith circuits and upon a recent visit to Los Angeles, was lured into the paws of the silent drama. She has decided to take a summer tour of vaudeville until fall, when she expects to return to studio land.
Supporting Miss Aye is Irving Grossman, known throughout the land as one of the cleverest of comics and whose voice has caused the attention of musical critics far and wide. A jazz band will also be seen in Maryon's offering and altogether, the big company plans to jazz it up properly during the engagement.
340 TONS STEEL IN C. C. CHAPMAN-BLDG.
The five-story C. C. Chapman-bldg in Fullerton will not only be the largest business building in Orange-co, but it will also be the only strictly fireproof building, according to M. Eugene Durfee architect.
Another distinction for the building will be the fact it contains the most steel of any building in the county.
Contract has already been let for 260 tons of structural steel and 80 tons of pressed steel floor joists. The latter will be used in supporting the cement floors.
