FRIENDS REMIND
MR. C. E. FISHER OF
BIRTHDAY DATE
A very glad reminder of his birthday was given Mr. C. H. Fisher last evening when a merry company of his friends motored to the Fisher home at Chino for a rousing surprise party. And surprise it was, indeed, as neither Mr. nor Mrs. Fisher suspected the designs of their former townspeople and friends.
After greetings and congratulations were over, the self invited guest presented Mr. Fisher with a valuable kodak, with which he was requested to "kodak as you go," the slogan of the popular make.
The ladies then formed a five hundred party while the men amused themselves with tales of the fish they had caught on the early summer outings, or the fish they had intended to catch, perhaps. The couple winning high scores was Mrs. Lake and Mrs. LaMont, and consolation went to Mrs. Ingram and Mrs. Will Wood.
The self-invited guests had thoughtfully taken along refreshments which were served about midnight. Forming the party were the Messrs. and Mesdames L. P. Bonnatt, C. B. Harrison, Will Woods, G. T. Ingram, Victor Bennat, Fred Schneider, William Lake, Joe Stroup, Frank Mauer and V. W. La Mont, all of Anaheim, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Merrill, of Chino, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Davie, of Long Beach.
E. L.'s Hunt Grunion
About twenty members of the White Temple Epworth League met at the church last night to form a grunion catching party, and drove to Anaheim Landing for the occasion. Although the pretty little silver fish were not running very numerously, several breakfasts were enjoyed this morning off the catch.

Social Meeting for O.E.S.
One of the most successful and happy meetings of recent months in Chispa occurred last evening. The informality of the social hour after chapter had closed was emphasized by games and contents in which almost all the members participated, under the leadership of Mesdames H. O. Henderson, of Long Beach, and C. E. Harberon. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Arthur Cohen and G. B. Daniels, and to Miss Margaret Billig and Mr. Williams. Refreshments were served after, games.
A very interesting announcement was the annual picnic and outing of the chapter when the members and their families will go to Bixby Park, Long Beach, Wednesday, July 12. Supper will be served at 6 o'clock with dancing to follow in the pavilion at Seal Beach. Further particulars will be announced later.
Reception and Farewell
The congregation of the Christian church is anticipating a social evening Friday which will have a regretful feature in the farewell to Rev. Loren Howe and family, as well as a happy greeting to the new pastor, Rev. L. L. Myers and family. Rev. Myers took charge of the church early in June to fill the place of Rev.
