GREAT PROGRAM AT CALIFORNIA SUNDAY There certainly are big doings theatrically in Anaheim starting Sunday, judging by the extraordinary attractions which have been booked for the California theatre. Wonderful pictures and world-famous vaudeville attractions will be featured, in one of the biggest weeks in this city's history. The outstanding features at the California theatre tomorrow only will be Bud Gerner's celebrated Orchestra; Richard Barthelmess in his latest phenomenal picture "The Seventh Day," and the second thrilling chapter of Robinson Crusoe. Bud Gerner's celebrated orchestra will provide a real treat for the California patrons Sunday afternoon and evening. There will be nine people on the stage. A noted dance couple has been secured to demonstrate the newest dance steps on the stage, and when Gerner's orchestra turns loose, there is certain to be much wiggling of the feet among the spectators in the audience. There are two important cinema features billed for Sunday. One of these will be the famous Richard Barthelmess in his latest phenomenal First National success "The Seventh Day." Barthelmess established himself firmly in the hearts of Film-dom when he made that exquisite picture "To-lable David," and this newest picture is fully up to standard set by his former effort. The other feature will be the second thrilling chapter of "Robinson Crusoe," which will be shown at the Sunday matinee only. The kiddies should get ready to turn out and see who is forging ahead in getting punch marks on their cards for that Catalina trip which the Plain Dealer is so generously giving away to the lucky boy or girl who wins. Coming to the California Monday will be Brown's Saxophone Six, who are so noted for their 200 or more phonograph records. These six distinguished artists on the saxophone are certain to be tremendous drawing cards in this city, and the music lovers are just waiting for the chance to pack the theatre. The Brown Saxophone Six will offer a series of their famous selections and they will undoubtedly prove a riot indeed. On the same program will be a splendidid offering. ATTRACTIVE CAMP OPENED IN CANYON Everyone gets the gypsy wanderlust and there are many ideal places an hour or so ride from home where at the end of the trail one may satisfy that spirit. But a now one combining the lure of camp life and social functions will be found in Riverbank Camp up in beautiful Santa Ana Canyon, and only a short 18 miles from Anaheim. Owen Smith and Walter Yance of Corona, and Billie Burkhardt of Whittier, three clean and wholesome young men, will open Riverbank camp tomorrow night with a dance. The camp is on main highway and is delightfully located. The managers have installed an individual lighting and power plant and the electric lights will blaze up and down the highway entrances as well as in the various concessions. There will be dancing every evening, a Los Angeles orchestra furnishing the music. The dance floor is 60x54 feet. The managers will have tents in the camp grounds so that one can drive up and enjoy the camping out event without carrying the luggage with them. The tents will be furnished or unfurnished. Parking places at all times of course will be free. Anaheim and No. Orange-co will welcome this new camp, close home, yet out in the wilds, with every convenience for camp life. RECORD CROWD AT FIRST BAND CONCERT The biggest crowd that has ever listened to a summer band concert here greeted Anaheim Municipal band last night in the first' of the summer series of weekly concerts at the city park. Hundreds of people from Anaheim and northern Orange-co listened to the concert from their futos which were parked by the score around the temporary bandstand. CLARK BUYS FIVE POINTS SERVICE STA. C.
