CURRENT EVENTS CLUB HOLDS LAST MEETING OF YEAR THE A. O. club, which, it is confidently whispered means "Afternoon Out", held the last meeting of the season yesterday with Mrs. C. W. Hedges. As usual, current events were discussed, each member answering to roll call with an interesting item. Flower quotations were passed by the president, Mrs. Fred. Little, these to be read preceding each current event introduced. Mrs. Hedges used coreops and bachelor buttons in tasty arrangement for decorative effect, the combination of yellow and blue being exceedingly cheerful. A social hour followed the business meeting in which a collation particularly appropriate to the temperature was served. Guests of the club were Mrs. B. F. Houts, Mrs. E. W. Hedges and little daughter, and Mrs. Roy Summerfelt, of Nevada, who is the house guest of Mrs. E. W. Hedges. Members present were Mesdames Fred. Little, L. M. Thompson, G. H. Goodale, Ida Dutton, J. Domestic Science Luncheon Seated about small tables at the pretty new home of Mrs. E. E. Smith members of the Domestic Science section of Ebell club enjoyed one o'clock luncheon yesterday. Each table was centered with a pretty bouquet of garden flowers. As this is the last meeting until September 18, the afternoon was bustily filled with planning for next year's activities. On behalf of the club Miss Scarritt, a past president, presented to Mrs. Donald Smiley, retiring president, a set of sterling silver coffe spoons, which she gracefully accepted with remarks of appreciation. Each member has earned five dollars during the past several weeks and in rhyme the story of securing the amount was told. Seventy-eight members responded with their sums, and more are to be heard from. The Home Economic department reported a snug sum earned from the booths on Rodeo day, the first section having $45 and the second, $38. These monies will be added to the clubhouse fund.
