ANOTHER BIG CARD
AT ARENA FRIDAY
Elated over the big success of last week's boxing show at the Athletic club, Manager Billy Darnley expects to repeat this Friday with just as good a card if not better. "Fight bugs" who attended last Friday's bill, one and all voted the entire program the best card of four-round bouts ever staged hereabouts. Every number on the bill was a feature. The boys tried hard all the time and the result was an A-1 program from start to finish.
This week's feature event will see that good boy Willie Hunt in action again. This time he will be up against a newcomer to local faces in the person of Jimmy Kramer, known as the "Fighting Dutchman" from Kansas City. Hunt earned the right to appear on this week's card by his wonderful showing against Dudley whom he held to a draw after four of the fastest rounds of fighting ever witnessed by local fans. In Kramer, he will have another tough nut to crack—a boy who will make him battle every inch of the way. Kramer also has held Dudley to a draw and has a decision over Willie gained at Vernon several months ago. Only for a knockdown that Jimmy gained in the last round Hunt would have received no less than a draw for his efforts, as the fight had been even up to that time. It looks like Manager Darnley is going to treat the local bugs to another real main event.
The semi-windup, too should prove another star battle for Leonard Lee, that classy little fellow from Denver, is down on the bill again. He is stacking up with Ted Levin, a tough, clover boy who will give the Denver youth plenty of fight, exactly what the fans crave for. The preliminaries as well should bring out some more snappy stuff as per last Friday when they had the crowd with them all the time by virtue of their good work. Some new faces will appear among them and that ought to please.
Bud Baker, from over Orange way, will give battle to an ebony youth answering to the realistic fighting

AQUATIC MEET FOR SCOUTS AT HARBOR
Newport Beach plans to entertain the scouts of Orange-co Wednesday at a huge aquatic meet on the bay at Newport. Scoutmaster A. J. Twist, of the Newport troop, is to have charge of the activities starting with a boat ride around the bay at 1 10'clock. This will be followed by a big basket luncheon at noontime.
First on the program for the afternoon will be a large swimming class for boys who do not know how to swim and then the races, fancy diving, canoe races and all such activities. The citizens of Newport are putting up a cup for the troop which wins first place and another cup is being put up by Smith & Bishop.
The points will be given on a troop basis. Every troop in the county expects to be represented in this aquatic meet which will be the first one ever held in the history of the Orange-co Council.

Babe Orton, a fast, hard-hitting 125-pounder, will give Tony Ross of local fame a tough time of it. This will be Ross's first appearance before local fight bugs and he has picked out a tartar in Orton.
Art Espinosa, better known as the Spanish Marvel, will have a real battler on his hands when he stacks up against Elmer Foley from Buena Park "Be Gosh". Little is known of Foley hereabouts but Darnley says that Anaheim fight fans are due for a real big surprise when they see this Foley boy go. Two rough and willing mixers are Billy Russell of Anaheim and Tex Jones of Long Beach who are scheduled to raise the curtain. The local boys are all working out at the Arena daily where the club has now established training quarters. Manager Billy, will have his hopes all in prime shape by Friday.
HIGH SCHOOL B. B. FIELD LOOKS FINE
That the local game of the Elks league will be played upon the best diamond- ever prepared for baseball contests here was demonstrated Sunday. Groundkeeper Tipton, who has been steadily improving the high school field, had the diamond and outfield in the best shape it has ever been for last Sunday's game.
Tipton carefully rolls and sprinkles the diamond before each game.
Getting a baseball field into ideal shape is a long, tedious process. However, Tipton has gone a long way toward perfection and his keen interest and industry in the future will without doubt give the local the best playing field of any So. Cal. Elks league team.

COMFORT WEEK FOR TIRED FEET AGAIN
The millions of foot sufferers in this country and Canada will be interested to know that national foot comfort week is with us again. The object of foot comfort week, which was founded six years ago by Dr. Wm. M. Scholl, the eminent foot authority and president of the Scholl Mfg. Co., was to bring to the attention of the public in a befitting way the necessity and value of having comfortable, efficient feet.
Authentic records disclose the fact that seven persons out of every 10 suffer from some form of foot trouble. That is an alarming condition when it is considered what an important factor the feet are in our daily race for success, pleasure and comfort. The little corns on top of or between the toes, the callouses on the soles of the feet, a painful heel and that general tired, "all in" feeling at night are usually the outward symptoms of a breaking down or weakening of the bony framework of the feet.
Mr. F. Hayhurst of the Lindsay Shoe Store has demonstrated to hundreds of his customers that it is entirely unnecessary for anyone to go through life with feet that are not thoroughly comfortable and efficient. He is putting forth a deserving effort to show the public that it should have its feet examined and the proper corrective appliances fitted.
Mr. H. Lindsay has put in a very creditable window display featuring the Foot Comfort idea and it is well worth anyones time 'to make an inspection of this window and note the progress that has been made in recent years, in devising ways and means of alleviating foot trouble.
