LOCAL BUSINESS MAN BRINGS BRIDE TO NEW HOME LOVELY June wedding was solemnized Sunday evening at the Swedish Baptist church in Los Angeles, when Mr. R. J. Ohlund, Anaheim manager of the A. B. Rice Floor company, and Miss Mabelle Anderson were united in marriage. After the ceremony the bridal party was taken to the Anderson home, 111 South Virgil street, Los Angeles, where a reception was held, and which was artistically decorated with large baskets of pink gladiolas and sweet peas. The bride was dressed in a beautiful gown of white Canton crepe heavily beaded and carried a bouquet of white bride's roses and lilies of the valley. She was attended by her sister, Miss Emma Anderson, and Miss Hilred Aulberg, and the ushers were the Messrs. George Aulberg and Edwin Hoffman. The happy couple received many beautiful and costly presents. After a wedding tour through the Yosemite and northern California, Mr. and Mrs. Ohlund will return to make their home here at 610 East Chartress street, where the grooms has already prepared a pretty home for the coming of his bride. Newlyweds at Forest Home The marriage of Miss Evalyn Junkin to Mr. Lester Everette, both or Garden Grove, was solemnized Saturday evening just at sunset in the pretty Junkin home on Ocean avenue. The rooms were fragrant with baskets of sweet peas in pink and lavender. As the slanting rays of the incoming Entertainment for Nuptial Elects As a pre-nuptial compliment to Miss Marjorie Atkins and Mr. Rees Sommerville who will be married Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Kidd entertained with a six-thirty dinner last evening. Two kewpie dresses as a bride and groom were placed as a center piece, and dainty place cards and nut baskets were in keeping. Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. William Abbott of Garden Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Newman Sanford, Mr. and Mrs. Mason Squires, Mr. and Mrs. Noble Sommerville parents of the groom-to-be, Miss Ella Atkins, the bridesmaid, the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Kidd and the honored guests, Miss Atkins and Mr. Sommerville. The afternoon hours were spent in pleasant discourse, and during the evening, Mr. and Mrs. Kidd presented the couple with a handsome leather chair, which will be given a place of honor in the new home. Visit With Home Folks Going to Exposition park, Los Angeles, a motor party of Anaheim relatives enjoyed the day with East St. Louis, Ill., Shriners, who were returning from the big convention in San Francisco. The party consisted of the Misses Kathryn Claus, Helen Claus, Dorothy Claus and Ben Claus, of Anaheim, but formerly of East St. Louis, and it was with much pleasure they heard the fine Shriners' band from their old home town, and met a number of friends who have made Southern California their home. A great many other eastern acquaintances had accompanied the Shriners on their western trip and again greeted the Anaheimers. She carried a large bouquet of yellow roses. The young couple had no attendants. After an informal reception and refreshments of ice cream and wedding cake, Mr. and Mrs. Everett left on a honeymoon to Forest Home. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Junkin and is a graduate of Anaheim high school, class of 19. Mr. Everette is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Everette, residents of Garden Grove for many years, and one of its most highly respected families. They will reside in their home town upon their return. Local Girl Becomes Bride Mrs. Ethel Crites and Mr. Wm. J. Baum were quietly married at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the parsonage home at 225 Rash-st., of Rev. L. L. Myers, newly appointed pastor of the Anaheim Christian church. The bride was charming in a silk crepe jersey with fawn colored hat and accessories to match. She wore a corsage bouquet of sweet peas. The bride was formerly a resident of Redlands and has been making her home with Mr. and Frs. A. C. Holmes of Anaheim. After a motor trip to San Diego and other points south the happy couple will make their home in Los Angeles, where Mr. Baum is a hardwood floor contractor. Dinner Party for Relatives Dr. and Mrs. W. J. Lawrie entertained with a lovely dinner party Sunday for relatives of Mrs. Lawrie, at their home, 1125 W. Center street. A social hour followed the dinner. Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Hedge, of Harbor City, parents of Mrs. Lawrie, Mr. and Mrs. I.C. Walde, daughter and son-in-law of Mrs. Lawrie, Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Baird and son and daughter-in-law of Mrs. Lawrie, and the hostess, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lawrie. Packing House Visitors Among the recent visitors at the packing house of the Anaheim Orange and Lemon Assn., are Mrs.A.E.Hull of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Robert Lorimer of Evanston, Ill.; Harry A.Trapp, of Denver, Coto.; W.R.Batchelder and family of Decatur, Ill.; and K.Hight of Assumptionon, Ill., friend of Mrs.J.J.Omelia of Anaheim.Hight was in San Francisco to attend the national convention and spent several days in the Southland. PAGE BRIDE AND GROOM OF YEARS AGONE ENTERTAIN KIN To celebrate a very notable occasion, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lehnen invited a dozen and a half of their friends to Orange county park in honor of their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary. The merry crowd went up early in the forenoon and at noon a sumptuous barbecue dinner was enjoyed. A striking feature of this meal was the cutting of the eighteen-pound wedding cake that was presented to the happy couple. The bride of over half a century cut and distributed the pieces to their guests, who were relatives. Included in the party were the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Lehnen, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Osborne and son, Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Noll and daughters, Marie and Virginia, Mr. John Volz, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Volz and son, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Volz and son, Mr. and Mrs. Alois Volz, Misses Catherine and Helen Volz. First Shop Year Very Good Having closed the first year of Community Shop Life on June 15, the ladies who have sponsored and assisted in its operation during that time are feeling very happy, and justly so, for the books for the year show $996 received, only four dollars short of their goal. During the coming year efforts will be redoubled, the shop remaining open as in the past, on Wednesday and Friday afternoons each week. The committees are thoroughly appreciative of the support of the townspeople and all who have cooperated with them. SANTA FE LEASE SANTA FE, June 20. (Spl.) Mr. and Mrs. H. Miss Vera Feldner, stenographer of the local office left Friday for a trip to Utah with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Feldner of Orange, Miss Melva Mitchell of Orange will take Miss Feldner's place until her return which will be in about a month or so. Beebs, whose children are under treatment for bites from their pet dog, which had developed rabies. Mr. J. E. Coyner left yesterday over the Santa Fe Limited for a pleasure trip visiting friends in Chicago. He will also go to Wisconsin, then to Ohio, his home state, where he will pass considerable of the time, and return via the Yellowstone park and Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carrol and daughter, Elizabeth Ann, Miss Lella Steadman and Miss Ida Benz have gone on a two weeks vacation trip to Yosemite park.
