A Garden Grove young lady, Miss Norma Larson, who represented the Garden Grove union high school in the Orange-co foresnsic contest and presenting a big and vitally important problem in a manner which makes it at once as entertaining as it is instructive, is the accomplishment of the Paramount picture "The Cradle." Ethel Clayton's latest starring creation, which comes to the California theatre today. Here, woven into a thrilling and dramatic story, is the problem racing every married man and woman who tiring of the marriage tie, seek to find a solution to their troubles in divorce. Just what this power is forms the theme of the picture and its nature is strikingly divulged as the story unfolds. Of its truth and importance it is surely to be conceded that none will be found to deny it. Eugene Brieux, author of the internationally famous "Damaged Goods," wrote the play from which this picture was adapted. Paul Powell directed, and a popular cast includes Charles Meredith, Anna Lehr and the child-wonder Mary Jane Irving. $50,000 DAMAGE IN S.F.LUMBERFIRE SAN FRANCISCO, May 30—High grade lumber to the quantity of 250,000 square feet was burned when fire, urged by a strong wind, swept through the California Mill Co plant here.
