That’s a roll of honor on which every name can be entered; in which the daily activities of our lives may be made the expression of a patriotic purpose. We can make our business serve the community, and thru that, the country. It’s easy to forget about it, in the prosaic affairs of life but it is also possible to remember it. Today is a good time to think about it. F. A. Yungbluth “By All Means Get a Fit” Home of Hart Schaffner & Marx Clothes EXPOSITION CLEARS EXPENSES ALREADY (Continued from Page One) enjoyed. There are also a number of artists in the program who will appear in their respective roles. At eight o'clock tonight the popular Fashion Show, which won the unstinted praise of visitors, will be repeated on a broader scale to be followed by one of the most attractive bathing girls revue ever presented in Southern California. On Tuesday, which will be devoted to the entertainment of Veterans of the Civil, Spanish-American and World Wars, there will be a Priche and Revue Des Champsons when Andrew H. (Jazz) famous stars will give one of the finest offerings of the val. On this occasion, the management will present a bevy of beauties under the personal direction of "Jazz" Klein, himself, who is time Orphelan star and distinctly Australian where he appeared with Annette Kelleman. He has been one of the most prominent performers appearing at the major clubs cafes in Los Angeles for several years. There will be three shows on Tuesday, the closing day—one in the afternoon and two in the evening. The silent jazz special will be presented in a midnight frolic and colorful lights and music. He greets a happy crowd, but it is not really a celebration in the chorus at "Love You," and "Leave Me With Artists." Prologue—Jazz Al. 1. Opening South Floor. Introducing, "Where the Southern Roses Grow," sung by Miss Louise Sullivan; "Old Fashioned Soft She Dance" by Dixie Beller; "Don't Leave Me, Mammy," sung by So Reese; "When She Song Hush-a By Sport" ELKS SURMARINE IDAHO BY 11 TO 2 Anaheim Elks submarined the U.S. Battleship crew yesterday afternoon on the local ship. The score was: Anaheim 7, Idaho 4. By one time the local datemen were facing him for the second time. He was pogged severely. In the round round, Anaheim scored three on an error also had hits, one a couple and one a home run. In the next innings, Schrott polled out a homer but was called out for calling to touch a bag. Pendleton also got a homer in the sixth innings. Pendleton was going fine yesterday. He fielded five chances, scared three rands twice and walked over five approaches to the wicket box. Callahan appeared on the mound for the first time yesterday. He looked good for the innings he was left in, permitting but two hits and no scores. As he had pitched a game yesterday, Hughes relieved him in the fifth innings. Hughes moved seven down on the strikeout but the gobs got next to him row of four bingles in seventh, good for two scores, one of them when Ainsley stole home. This is the first time in history the home plate was ever purloined from the veteran battery of Hughes and Ainsley. But Ainsley had already monstered he was lightning fast and charmed life, eluding the getting back ball when he was caught here. The gobs were fast and good example of the national pastime but there was little enthusiasm by the local bugs team. CHANCE DATE FOR WRESTLING MATCH A chance has been made in the late of age big wrestling match between Roy Mabee and At Sparkes and Vic Baden to the night of Tuesday, June 13. The match was originally set for Tuesday, June 6th, but out of courtesy to the local Elks lodge which is holding its big dinner dance on that date Manager Elly Darnley deemed it advisable to make the finance. It is probably just as well as the match is one of great importance to Mabee as well as to his opponents for it will give the big fellows an extra week of training to put themselves in tip top form. Roy says he will put each boy's shoulders to the mat in the required time which is one hour, that is, he agrees to throw both Sparkes and Baden each twice in one hour. Al and Vic both are eminent in their statements that Mr. Roy Mabee is attempting to bite off a bigger chunk than he or any other man can possibly chew and that for the good fans to have faith in their statement that a bigger surprise awaits them, the fans—in that they, Sparkes and Baden, are going to turn the tables this time and dump the Hon. Mr. Roy Mabee to the mat within jig time. The sport fans are not going to take any chances in missing this match as evident by a big demand for tickets already. Cal. Elks Bowling league will clash in a special practice match Thursday evening. The prize is a big dinner at the Elks club Friday night, Elks No. 1 team will meet Pasadena. Anaheim Elks No. 2 will lay off this week. It is to be a Triples league, instead of Doubles, as first planned. There will be one A and two Cs or two Bs and a C on each trio. Six bowlers have signed for the summer scheduled. Twelve or 24 are desired. There has been a lot of chin action over who is the better bowler—Efker or Gordon. It would seem the best way to decide it is on the alleys. Efker is a tough man in a match and likewise is Gordon, especially if NAHEIM CASEYS AN PEDRO The bowl takes place on Wednesday after a game of Detil, happy with the tool that they were the first team to defeat San Diego. The score was 7 to 5. San Pedro had won six straight games and leads the So. Cal. K. of C. League. Anaheim has won two. The batteries for Anaheim yesterday were Hund and Pelzer. The locals made hits and 3 errors. The San Pedro battery was Burke and Grimmings. San Pedro made 3 hits and 1 error. Anaheim K. of C. diamond men will meet the Pasadena team at Brookside park next Sunday. BASEball Standings PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE W. L. P.c. BELIEV ECAR LEFT HERE WAS STOLEN A Studebaker Light Six, which looks as if it had been stolen, was found by Paul Allen, resident manager of the Auto Club of Southern California, at the Santa Fe station at 6 o'clock this morning. It is a car worth perhaps $1500 and in the back was a picnic luncheon basket containing food, silver, etc. The registration card is in the name of C. Bruce Thorne, 153 Hill street, Huntington Park. Although no inquiry has been made at the local office, a close watch will be kept on the auto and should it remain there until night, it will be reported. The key is gone, and circumstances seem to point to theft and abandonment, by someone who used the car to make his escape, later taking the train here, to avoid being caught on the train or stages out of Los Angeles. IDLENESS PROBLEM BECOMES EASIER WASHINGTON, May 29—Industrial optimism was materially strengthened today by a letter from President Harding to Secretary of Commerce Hoover, in which the President rejoices that "we have passed through the winter of the greatest unemployment in the history of our country." Pointing to the marked decrease in unemployment, the President referred to the industrial pulse of the nation as "beating more steadily" and congratulated Hoover on his efforts as chairman of the conference on unemployment.
