WEDDING BELLS AT
YORBA LINDA HOME
YORBA LINA, May 23. (Spl.)—
The wedding bells rang for Miss Ellen Anderson and Dr. Richard Cochran at the studio home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Seamans last Saturday afternoon when about 40 close friends gathered in honor of the bride and groom-elect.
Miss Anderson is one of the teachers of the Yorba Linda schools and during her three years' of faithful and successful teaching here has won the love and respect of parents and pupils and the community at large. She has been one of Mrs. Seamans' most careful students in music and was with Mr. and Mrs. Seamans on their delightful trip to Yosemite valley last year.
Dr. Cochran has proved himself a skillful and conscientious young physician and a favorite in the many homes and social circles.
A very unique feature for such an occasion was the actual ringing of the wedding bells during the afternoon. As the guests arrived Dr. Lester Keller appropriately clad and wearing a tall beaver hat of Quaker style, worn by Mrs. Seamans' grandfather West more than 100 years ago, rang one of the old Mission bells suspended on the porch. The bellMithe private and cherished property of Mrs. Alonzo Yorba of Placentia. It was hand-hammered out of copper and brass and gold and silver more than 100 years ago and was long used in one of the old Missions where Mrs. Yorba regularly attended services.
Musical numbers were rendered by Miss Irma Thomas singing "I Love You" and "The Marriage Bells" and during the singing of the latter song Dr. Keller softly rang the wonderful mission bell which blended its sweet notes from without with the piano and song within and brought forth a most striking effect. Everett Moore whistled "The Whippoorwill" and "The Birds in the Brook." Miss Edith Kaub sang "The Land of the Sky Blue Waters." Little Miss Jessie Main gave two numbers of her artistic fancy dancing. Mrs. Seamans presided at the piano throut and also rendered in her masterful manner "Berceuse" by A. Iljinsky and "C Sharp Minor Waltz" by Chopin. Mrs. Ben Selover very splendidly rendered on the violin two numbers.

Mrs. Ben Selover very splendidly rendered on the violin two numbers "Lion-de-Ball" and "The Rosary."
The program was closed by Joseph Sanchez the great favorite of all, singing in his rich tenor voice "Thank God for a Garden", "A Dream" by Bartlett, "Sunshine of your Smile" and "I Hear You Calling Me."
Mrs. Seamans in a graceful and pleasing manner presented Miss Anderson with a handsome gift of knives, forks and spoons of Jamestown pattern which was the collective gift of friends assembled.
Dainty refreshments were served by six of the bride's young lady friends and the guests departed feeling that the afternoon had been a delightful and rare success in memory of friends tried and true at the end of a perfect day.

Light lunch of ice cream and cake was served to the guests who included besides just the immediate family on both sides two or three of the dearest friends of the bride. Our small community was shocked Monday morning when word was brot us that Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Bryan were in the Fullerton hospital from injuries received by their car going over a 75-foot embankment in Carbon canyon. They had been down to visit their son, who lives near Pomona and were coming home thru Carbon Canyon because they thot the road was better and we haven't been able to find out yet how it happened but some one driving by heard Mrs. Bryan crying and they haven't found out yet who it was that rescued them. They say they don't see how any one could get them out of the place, it was so steep and the car is a total wreck. Mr. Bryan is the most seriously hurt. They think he has internal injuries. This happened Sunday evening about half after five and they were trying to get home before dark. They are conscious this morning, but say they don't know how it happened. They turned out to pass another car and think the wheel struck a rut that thrown town over the bank.
