VIC BADEN
BIG GRAPPLERS ALL SET FOR FRI. NIGHT
Vic Baden and Roy Mabee are all set and "rarin" to go in the big fracas tomorrow night at the Grand Theatre. The boys will come in at about 185 pounds. That match is to be to a finish, catch-as-catch-can, best two out of three falls.
Mabee appears to be the favorite over tall Vic, due, no doubt to his recent sensational showing against Al Sparkes whom he decisively defeated in two straight falls. Roy's comeback was something for him to feel chesty about and he figures to repeat against Baden.
The tall boy from Irvin's garage is confidence personified and says he

OFFICIALS NAMED FOR SCOUT MEET
Announcement of the officials of the field meet of the Boy Scouts to be held Saturday in Fullerton was made today from scout headquarters as follows:
Starter—E. E. Heidt of Santa Ana; judges—T. H. Barley of San Diego; E. A. Merwin, of Long Beach; H. F. Benner of Glendale; J. L. Blake of Pomona.
Scorekeeper—Leon O. Whitsell of Orange. The judges are all scout executives of the communities from which they come.
Strauss and Co. of Fullerton announced that they would give the third place prize and are having a beautiful banner made for that purpose.
The signaling contest in the meet is developing some real competition in that a number of scouts have been working very hard on becoming efficient in sending and receiving and the officials of the meet are expecting some real record breaking signaling at that time.
The fancy drill event promises to be one of the best ever held in the county. Several expert drill masters have been helping different troops get started and troops are drilling nearly every night in all the towns of the county in order to become thoroughly competent in that requirement.
The Fullerton high school band promises a real treat in the music cas tomorrow night at the Grand Theatre.
The tall boy from Irvin's garage is confidence personified and says he will have no excuses to offer if Roy flops him. There are many who give Baden even better than even break in his set-to with Mabee. His eastern record is being pointed out as the best possible evidence of his real prowess as a first class "grappler."
These two boys promise to deliver the real goods and the fans attending are sure to get their money's worth. A couple of fast preliminaries have also been lined up. Manager Billy Darnley announces that the ladies will be admitted free of charge if they are accompanied by an escort.
The advance sale is reported as being even better than the recent Sparkes-Mabee affair and judging by the unusual amount of interest shown among the fans a good house seems assured.
Tickets are on sale at Dugas and Myre and Unfited Cigar Store.
