SPORT EXPECT 900 SCOUTS AT FIELD DAY SAT. "Nine hundred scouts and scout officers present sir!" That is the report expected when the scout executive officially presents the Scouts of Orange-co to their president; D. Eyman Huff next Saturday at the second annual review to be held at 1:30 p.m. on the high school track in Fullerton. This event will draw scout officials from all over southern California, Chas. N. Miller, regional scout executive, having jurisdiction over California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and the Hawaiian Islands will be present to accompany the president and executive board on the annual review. Tallman H. Trask, scout executive of the Pasadena council; J. Lincoln Blake scout executive of the Pomona council; E. A. Merwin, scout executive of the Long Beach council and Harold F. Benner, scout executive of the Glendale council will all be present to assist in the judging of the events to be held in the field meet. The day will start with a huge parade at 11:30 a.m., through the downtown streets of Fullerton headed by the high school band of Fullerton, and immediately following the parade the scouts will have a big luncheon in the cafeteria of the high school, where a program of yells will be enjoyed by those present. The scouts are to bring their own lunches and the council will furnish drinks. At 1:30 p.m. the annual review of the scouts by the executive board will be held. The executive board consists of J. P. Baumgartner, Alex Brownridge, W. J. Heinz, D. Eyman Huff, E. E. Jahraus, C. R. Montague, Waldo O'Kelly, Geo. W. Sloop, Willard Smith and M. B. Wellington. Immediately following the review the field meet will start when each troop will put on three minutes of fancy drill, after which a contest in water boiling will be held to be followed by a signaling contest, then a contest in scout pacing; a first aid race; a flap jackcooking event; a charlot race; a real nail driving contest; a flag relay race, a real comedy in a shoe race; another funny one is the crab race; CASEY, THE COP ON DEAD-OLEAR I JUST KNOW YOU'LL BE KILLED IF YOU DON'T GIT OFF THE IRONS THEATRES "Slaters," starring Seena Gwen, Gladys Leslie and Matt Moore, is the feature at the California again today. SEEKS OVERTHROW OF CHINESE HEAD PAO TINF FU, China. May 17—Another outbreak of civil war this time in southeastern China, was threatened today. Gen. Chen Chung Ming, formerly of the Cantonese army, who was dismissed by the south China republic, has appealed to Gen. Wu Pei Fu, conqueror of Gen. Chang Tso-Lin to aid in the overthrow of Dr. Sun Yat Sen, head of the republic of south China, and ally of Gen. Chang. AMERICA REFUSES TO RUSS RECOGNITION WASHINGTON, May 17—The administration today stood pat on its determination not to recognize the soviet government of Russia. Sitton, chairman of a special committee appointed for that purpose are planning to show the scouts of the county in a very material way how much they appreciate their annual visit by decorating all show windows and having special decorations on the streets which will put the city in its holiday dress. In all it will be a wonderful day for the scouts of Orange-co and a splendid opportunity for the public to really see what is being done in scouting.
