PICTURE ANAHEIM WAS WAITING FOR "The picture all Anaheim has been waiting to see." That is what Managers Swope and Ingram said yesterday when commenting upon their next attraction at the California theatre, entitled "Bought and Paid For," featuring those two popular stars, Jack Hott and Agnes Ayres, which starts tomorrow. "Bought and Paid For" is known around the world as one of the greatest stage plays ever presented, and in this picture, Paramount has outdone itself in the making of a wonderful feature cinema. The thrilla! The suspense! Tuesday stand out tremendously in this remarkable picture, and with Hott and Miss Ayres in the principal roles, the local theatergoers can be assured of a bit of acting seldom seen here. With this idea in mind, and the fact that the picture is such a spendid one, the management has arranged with Organist Reese to prepare a musical program of suprurb secured numbers. These will be presented every performance. The program will also contain several short subjects, the best obtainable, it was stated, and art in all it is one of the finest presentations ever exhibited here. Selover, on Tuesday evening, was postponed one week. Some sixty ladies turned out on Tuesday afternoon to the first meeting held in the new club house. The meeting was a memorial to Mrs. Julia Vernon, first president of the club. The program included a resume of the club by Mrs. P. S. Arnustz. She also read the minutes of the first club meeting which was held ten years ago. Selover who took Miss Marsha Vernon's place as chairman of the building committee. Rev. Statom gave a short address which was much enjoyed and the meeting was adjourned by the serving of tea. Mrs. Hargroves, who had the program for the day in charge, is to be congratulated on its success. Mrs. Charles Payne who underwent an operation at the Fullerton Hospital on Friday is reported as improving slowly. Others on the sick list include Mrs. Ada Lynn and Mrs. M. Smith.
